NHL 24/25 - Still did better than Vancouver

Well it's about time the Golden Refs got a taste of their own medicine. That's just good booking.

Nothing, puck up in the air. Both players try to touch the puck with their stick but Roy was faster. Both missed the puck and Roy hit Trent in the face, accident i say. This is the playoffs ffs, play on.

Yep Roy did nothing. Just your typical trying to cross check the puck outta mid air. Roy must have missed that day of practice when they were practicing cross checking pucks

Damn right, refs fixing the series for Oilers.

oilers choked and blew a 2 goal lead and almost lost it. they fucking suck. just the knights suck more. they should be ashamed of themselves and they should probably reconsider whether they still want to play hockey. the only thing worse than losing to the oilers is losing to the leafs, which i am sure vegas would have done if they were playing in toronto.

dude vgk better win at least one

Oilers riding their longest winning streak of the season at 6 games after starting the playoffs 0-2. All under Pickard who is 6-0 in the playoffs and 28-10-1 for the season (including playoffs).

Pickard has been significantly better than Skinner this year, but the team also seems to play better in front of him. Maybe because they aren't constantly worried about a bad goal or demoralized by one. Crazy how long it took the Oilers to give up on Skinner this season.

Also it's strange how this year is a bit of an inverse of last year. Coming from behind to get all of their wins instead of being front runners and desperately trying to hold onto a lead in the 3rd. 5 on 5 Depth scoring being so impactful and their PK being anemic (league worst 59.3% in these playoffs) when they had an all time great PK last year and much more heavily relied on McDavid/Draisaitl/Bouchard/Hyman. Those guys are still playing well (at least the first 3), but they aren't relying on them and special teams anywhere near as much to get wins atm.

surely you are trolling.

skinner's gotta be the loneliest guy in the dressing room right now.

I'm not sure what the Oilers do with him tbh. In hindsight they should have traded him at the beginning of the season (which a lot of people were calling for). Next season is the last year of his contract. Maybe he bounces back or just improves, but part of his 'decline' seems to be that teams just know how to play against him now. He has terrible lateral movement and is one of the very worst (if not the worst) goalie against rush chances. I think his stats against the rush aren't even remotely NHL level. On that note, I'm not sure who would want him. lol. He's pretty good against the cycle due to his size and (allegedly) his ability to track the puck.

well if no other team wants him i guess he can always stick around and make himself useful by washing the teams jockstraps. and perhaps help evander kane hedge his bets.

i just want him back for road games because it's always funny watching the crowd serenade him with the skinner chants after he lets in 5 or 6 goals.

Jeff Skinner's story is almost funnier. Waits 15 years to get to the post-season and plays 1 game. And only because the Oilers didn't want to play Kane in game 1. That could be the only playoff game he plays. Kind of like a Rudy moment for him. I guess there's a decent chance someone gets injured or he signs for cheap with another playoff team.
