It's come to my attention that No Hw's have headlined yet in 2025 and no major fights in the division have been made even for the undercards we're almost past the first quarter of the year. The last Hw fight to get a high card placement was volkov vs gane, and even that wasn't a co-main event

What will be the first Hw main event of 2025?

Their management of the HW division is terrible.
Jones only brought them money 2x since 2020, they should've built other stars.
Take the belt from him and give him emeritus status behind closed doors or whatever.

I just wonder how long can this go on for? the division doesn't move. there's no development, no space, no action..... what gives?

Its really sad to see. UFC HW is beyond bad now, we get a UFC HW title fight like once every 2 years, and its not just about the title, outside of that there is barely any big time HW fights. The division just gets worse and worse every year that passes.

Most of the HW fights now go to decision, if you notice the last few years how many of them go to decisions, we barely get get big 1 punch KOs anymore. Most of the UFC HW prelim fights are dreadful, they are so bad, very little skill and talent

Its a shame because 15 years ago UFC HW was getting so good, lots of fun matchups and it was exciting. Its not just that we had Brock, Randy, Cain, JDS, Overeem, Werdum, Carwin, Big Nog, Josh Barnett, Mir, Cro Cop, Hunt, and others, but it was the fact that they actually fought as well, there were actual HW fights. Now barely anyone even fights, I don't know how they make any money. Derrick Lewis is the only guy that really fights often and even he is slowing down now because he is gonna retire very soon.

Jones hasn't even really brought them any money 2x since 2020 beyond the gates. Which if you subtract from the regular PPV gates they could get anyway is pretty negligible.

ESPN deal. PPV buy numbers are irrelevant to the UFC.

So it's even more bizarre that they would derail the most impportant division for Jones.

But there's actually a very simple explanation. With all the shady shit the UFC has done for Jones, they actually need to keep him happy because he knows where the bodies are buried.

Roids and trt. That's what lhw and hw run on and that's why the divisions are in shambles . It's too hard to be a big fighter and be natty. Make the big guys athletic again and extend the careers of guys who don't wanna cut weight any more.

That's what gives
That's what ne need

It’s not like Jones, and his lowlife fans give a shit about the sport. He’d sit on the belt forever, and never fight again if the UFC allowed it. All while pretending he’s some kind of legit champion. And we know his fans would support that.

It’s just another argument to stop watching, and never come back. The reasons just keep piling up too. None of it makes sense to fair minded people.

The UFC needs to end this farce. Selling the future of a division down the river. All for one of the biggest lowlifes to ever fight in the UFC. Jones supposedly was going to need 6 months AFTER signing for the fight to actually fight. Needs time to cycle I imagine.

Well he fought in November. It’s almost May. There’s 6 months right there. Even if he had taken a month, or two for holidays. He should have been scheduled to fight Aspinall for IFW, with zero problems.

I just know the UFC is going to fuck this up. And lowlife Jones will sit on the belt unnecessarily, just like he did before vacating the LHW belt. It was 8 months I believe since the Reyes fight. Until Jones vacated. There is literally no justification for that. And yet the UFC talked (probably coerced) TWO LHW champions in a row into vacating due to injury. Yet Jones kept his for over a year while injured. There really is two sets of rules in the UFC.

The rules for Jones, and Conor. And the rules for everybody else.

Jiri was out for 11 months from the time he was injured. About 16 months in total since he won the LHW title until his next fight.

Hill was only out injured for 9 months. And about 15 months in total. From winning the title until his next fight.

From the day Jones beat Gane, until fighting Stipe was TWENTY (20) months.

Let’s not talk about how long Conor sat out HEALTHY and never even attempted to defend. The UFC made interim titles while both Jones, and Conor were the champions.

But made Jiri, and Hill vacate while being out LESS time than those other two assholes.

Hm, if there were some exiting fighters outside Gane and Aspinall there would probably be more HW fights on main cards. But with the policy how he runs things Dana White has it´s hard to see any change in the near future.
And with a champ holding up the division/the belt for some obscure reasoning....

There is a reason why I lost that much of interest in modern MMA. Sad, but true. Champs fighting max. two times a year and that only if it´s a good year. Meaningless cards and on top meaningless title fights like Jones vs Miocic.
For me there are in general not that much fighters I would follow anymore. Even the champs of most if not all divisions are not worth to watch anymore. There are exeptions but in general the UFC has watered down it´s own product.

"Neck and neck with soccer", what a joke.

Good. There's maybe 2 or 3 heavyweights who are worth watching, the rest of the division can get shit-canned for all I care.

Well that's a sad and messed up realization.

Im gonna go out on a limb here and say Gane/Almeida will be booked for an apex main event in a few months.

Or Jon retires at any moment and we get a Aspinall/Gane announcement shortly for the undisputed belt.
