300+ and ripped? Who is that. I know the average Sherdogger would lay waste to the division if they lowered the limit, but besides that who are you talking about that wants to train UFC?

Obviously half of the sherdog forums aren't able to compete in the UFC due to the 265 limit.

But on a more serious note, you've got crazy freak athletes like Brian Shaw and Hafthor Bjornsson that have trained aspects of MMA but can't fight in the UFC. These guys weigh like 400 pounds and they're athletic beasts. There's Olivier Richters that was training with Alistair Overeem, making [Overeem] look super small.

I guarantee if the UFC HW division had zero weight limit, that eventually some of these strong men would try their hand at it.

It was his first fight at HW, did not prove anything there. He intentionally moved up to fight Francis but Dana didn’t want to pay Francis based on the financial request. I guess you can say Jones was deserving at the time because the original bout was between him and Francis. The HW division has not been the same since the roster of Cain, JDS, Werdum, Overeem, DC, Mir, etc. Francis kept it alive before he left, but Jones is chopping down this tree before it timbers if it hasn’t timbered yet.
