I still have no idea wtf the Wolves were doing in that series, or why Gobert couldn't have had a similar affect as Zingod did on the defensive end
Even just picking Luka up before half court like Brown and Jrue have been doing, so that he can't get into the offense as early. Just bizarre.
I think it's a case of styles make fights.
Also, celtics personnel are better suited to guarding luka 1 on 1. I think Luka will adjust though.
Although celtics are able to create some nightmare mismatches for their offense(eg. Zingis on Green / Kyrie).
Reason that Porzingus was able to be so effective defensively was because Doncic wasn't getting blitzed, and all the defenders did a good job of stopping their man getting free, prevented all the alley oops. Wolves blitzed, and it opened up the floor. Mavs need to do a better job of switching and creating more suitable rotations / match ups.
To beat the Celtics, Doncic and Kyrie both HAVE to have massive games, because the celtics are just gonna let Doncic get his. Other players of the mavs aren't great at getting their own shot, so if they shut down doncic's passing game, they shut down the whole offense basically.
Mavs will also need to get really good at perimeter defense, double the effort.
If the Mavs can make it interesting, it'll be one of the most intriguing finals series of all time.
