RIP Can Hurley.

Guy might have had a chance at success if he coached in an era with defense and accountability.

 
Luka was the only Mav player to put up a decent game in the opener, and everyone is talking about what he needs to do better for the team to win.

Keep that in perspective. This guy wasn't even seriously considered for MVP by virtually any of them, but apparently the media believes it's pretty much just him against the Celtics in the NBA finals.

I can't take the media seriously.

Agree. Level of expectation is out of control.

That being said, he was top three in MVP voting. That is far from shabby, I think everyone recognizes he's an amazing player.

Celtics offensive strategy is really different to thunder and wolves. They are masters in creating massive spacing and making defenders run all around the floor to defend the 3. Not ideal for a player like Luka.

I have faith that the mavs can adjust though, they've been through a gauntlet of fire to get here.

I still have no idea wtf the Wolves were doing in that series, or why Gobert couldn't have had a similar affect as Zingod did on the defensive end

Even just picking Luka up before half court like Brown and Jrue have been doing, so that he can't get into the offense as early. Just bizarre.

He got just 4 out of 99 votes, it's better than zero.

I'm stating that the same people who apparently think he is the reason the whole team wins or loses the finals seem to have a strange definition of "Most Valuable". They seem to think he is the reason they lose, but not the reason they win.

I don't disagree with Joker winning MVP, I just think the criticism should match the praise. If Luka is just a piece in the team, and Kyrie is a huge part, let's keep things that way when it's time to place the blame.

Doesn't look like it's happening that way though.

They won their championship after beating the nuggs and didn’t come to play.

Sure, votes for first. But Yoke absolutely breaks advanced stats so there's not much reason to put others ahead of him and that's no disrespect to others, and SGA did real well too and had the benefit of the one seed. But I agree totally with your overall sentiment. Some folks are just held to weird standards. You can't expect a player to be the best offensively and defensively and denigrate them for not single handedly gifting a championship. It's a team sport obviously.

A mw fight co main event, raul on card, and a mw main event for scrap. Should be a okay card. Ill be flipping between that and the Astros game..i just cant get drunk.
