Nice anecdote. Living in goatcal I know a lot of hardcore laker fans that love LeGoat. Kobrick is loved more though. That’s the truth.

Most fans of any franchise are retards. Imagine hating a guy who won you a title and had to suffer through 5 years of putrid GMing and blaming him for it.

If the Lakers weren't the Lakers, they'd have kept a lot of their young talent instead of pushing for a title right away, but nobody knew if LeGOAT would be all NBA at like 39 lol

If they developed that old squad with Candle, Ingram, etc, trhey'd be a juggernaut right now.

They would have signed Kawhi as a free agent, remember he wanted to be in LA, he just didn't want to play with Bron.

I think that core with some Kawhi health luck could win it. Currently however we are in 2024 and have seen post season Kawhi maybe twice since joining Clips?

All that said, Lakers won a chip with Bron and thats all that matters. They want him to retire as a Laker so he's associated with the brand and his records with their team.

That wasn't a real title tho. And the Lakers gave up 10 years of their future for it. Now they're stuck with Lebron and soon to be Bronny.

No distractions, all ball, best ball we've ever watched in the post season.

There were no excuses about travel, home court advantage etc.

GOAT title, and if the Lakers didnt win it I'd say the same damn thing.

That's great and all but no travel, no home court advantage, no fans, a 5 month break, covid protocols, and half the league out of shape is not what a NBA playoff is.

Real champions have to go through the grind if the regular season without a 5 month break. Real champions have to travel and deal with the pressure of the criwds and playoff atmosphere. Without those elements its just a random tournament nobody wanted or was in shape to participate in.

And the Lakers gave up 10 years of relevancy for it.

They never should have let Caruso get away. He's probably a more tenacious defender than anyone they currently have on the team.
