I peeped the stats this year and they aren't as other worldly as last year. From 70% TS down to 64.5% (Only 1.5% better than HolmGOAT's rookie season).

Team success wise Nuggets are 6 games up, Dallas has a rookie C and trade deadline moves, they don't have years of playing in a system together. I could see an argument for either. If Jokic didn't have one "owed" to him because of last year it would feel closer to most fans.

I agree but it is a little more nuanced than that. For example, that 34/9/10 is a stat line that has never happened. Luka is the only player in history. In addition to that, in the modern era of basketball, say 1980-Present, Luka's 34ppg has only be averaged by 5 players Jordan, Kareem, Harden, Kobe, and Luka. Luka's 73 point game was the most efficient 70 ball in NBA history and he also set the record for most consecutive 30 point triple doubles (6).

I get it, Jokic is an analytics beast, but for Luka not to win this season, I think people will look back on it as a huge mistake. Luka is having not just a great season but a historic season in multiple ways.
