Disagreed with last seasons for him, but this year he had a real shot. I'd have him as a slight favorite but yeah, he's done

Yeah, that's why I specifically said "legit" lol. Nick Wright kind of said it right when he said "you don't get viewers and followers by talking about Jokic and the Nuggets." It was a clear screw job last year, but not much sense in complaining when Yoke himself didn't give two shits about it at the time, let alone that he got his hands on the prize he really wanted after.

What is interesting is all the anti-Jokic narratives last year Embiid was immune to it this year. Didn't here a single talking head say Embiid needs to "do it in the playoffs" to be able to win again (though Jokic always had better playoff performances), or Embiid is stat padding (when racking up 70 points against a basement dwelling team). Not going to bother with the race-baiting angles that made an appearance.

What's amazing is how many voters wound up going along with the mob mentality. But NBA is sports entertainment so none of this is surprising, just pathetic.

I hope Lu Dort isn’t used in any trade packages. Giddey is more expendable imo.

The defensive ratings of MVP candidates:

1. Jokic - 109.8
2. SGA - 109.3
3. Embiid - 109.5
4. Giannis - 112.7
5. Tatum - 110.5
6. Luka - 115.6 (lol)

None of these cans deserve to even look at the Michael Jordan trophy let alone hold it.

Jordan's energy level was demigod status. I've never, or almost never seen an athlete in any sport with MJ's energy. Normal seasons he played 36, 37, 38 minutes a night but he had multiple seasons where he played 40+ minutes a game for all 82 games while simultaneously winning scoring tittles on the offensive end and steals titles on the defensive end. Joe Dumar's said nobody could match MJ's energy.

He never had to defend on ball, he literally chilled and let Pippen do most of the work. He was a help defender in a league that didn't allow zone.

This Jordan mythology knows no limits lmao

He's probably the greatest help defender of all time, he also is one of the greatest at jumping the lane and getting steals, he also was tremendous as a 6'6" shot blocker capable of stuffing the shots of Centers. Jordan was so many things, he also spent a lot of time defending his man and putting him on lockdown and there are plenty of videos that documented it. He was elite on both ends and had more energy than anyone in the league.

Saw that the Mavs are losing by double digits to the Embiid-less 76ers and rolled my eyes. Then saw that Kyrie is back and playing…cmon guys this is a game they shouldn’t lose.

I'm actually pretty big on the 76ers even without Embiid. Maxey is legit. Harris has been playing quite well every time I see them recently. Oubre is hot and cold but when hot, those three are pretty damn good IMO. I fully expect them to make the playoffs even if Embiid doesn't play for the rest of the regular season. I definitely don't think they can win a chip without Embiid but I don't think they're a pushover in any regular season game as despite having a crap record without him so far this year I think they will adjust and I have respect for Nick Nurse.

I never thought Grant Williams would be a star, but i figured he'd be at least kinda productive in Dallas. Guy must be a tire fire for them to have trouble trading him for Bobby Portis in 2024

Initially he played well when he got to Dallas, honeymoon and all, but then he started shitting the bed more than Amber Heard, I have no idea why.
