2022 NFL Draft Discussion

Wide Receiver

Tier 1

Chris Olave (Ohio State)-Probably the best route runner in this class. Was great at getting open all over the Field.Had sure Hands.Reminds me of a smaller version of Justin Jefferson in that sense.Average in Size.Quick as Hell.Lacks physicality.Didn’t show much YAC abilities.

Garrett Wilson (Ohio State)-slightly undersized outside WR.Has really good Speed and acceleration and regularly got open.Could deal with more physical outside CBs.Showed incredible Balance on some Highlight reel catches. Was an absolute YAC threat with the Ball in his Hands.Could use improvement on his technique as a route runner.

Tier 2

Jameson Williams (Alabama/Ohio State)-Lanky and fast Outside WR.Has a quick release and ridiculous Long Speed with his long strides.Showed good Hands and was a YAC Threat. Was often used and effective on plays behind the LOS.Did well in contested situations despite being well under 200lbs. Could be more nuanced as a route runner, rarely used Head fakes and his cuts could be quicker.Didn’t face a lot of Press coverage as CBs were worried about his Speed.

John Metchie (Alabama)-slightly undersized WR with outside & slot capabilities.Doesn’t have game-breaking Speed but can absolutely burn Defenders.Has a quick release and can cut quickly.Did a lot of Blocking work and did pretty well there.Needs to improve and learn to beat good, physical DBs.

Tier 3

Christian Watson (North Dakota State)-Lanky and athletic WR.Has a rare athletic and agility Profile for his size.Mostly aligned outside with his fair share of slot and even backfield alignments. Was a really good Blocker, which he had to do a lot of in college.Has the Speed to burn CBs deep.Tracks the Ball well.Has a quick release.Did really well on screens and jet sweeps and showed impressive agility there.Showed inconsistent Hands and had his fair share of Drops.Rarely faced Press coverage in the FCS.

Skyy Moore (Western Michigan)-WR with thick build but less than ideal length.Lines up in the slot and outside.Has an Elite first step and was great at quick weight shifts leaving defenders in the dust. One of the cleanest Ball catchers in this class and one of the most agile WRs.Fearless catcher over the Middle. One of the best route runners in this class. His length might limit him to a slot role for NFL Teams. Was not a very passionate Blocker.

David Bell (Purdue)-Mid-sized WR.Played Outside and in the slot. Can adjust his Routes really well to make DBs look foolish.Has a Knack for exploiting Zone Coverage.Tracked the Ball really well and was really good at the catchpoint with sure Hands.Always looks to get YAC and was a Threat there.Lacks Top End Athleticism and had a slow release.

Kyle Philips (UCLA)-Compact Slot WR.One of the most agile WRs in this class.Probably the best route runner in the slot with some of the best Hands and a quick release.Very good at manipulating Defenders.Very reminiscent of players like Julian Edelman or Hunter Renfrow. Was a committed Blocker.Doesn’t have Top End Speed.

Reggie Roberson (SMU)-Was an Elite Deep Threat in College.Has great Long Speed and showed good Hands, even in traffic. The few routes he ran he was really good at.His route tree was limited by SMUs scheme. His change-of-direction skills aren’t up to par.Had 2 seasons shortened by Injuries (Hamstring (2019),ACL (2020))

WanDale Robinson (Kentucky/Nebraska)-Undersized WR who played mostly in the slot and used on plays behind the LOS.Equipped with Good (though far from game-breaking) Speed and pretty elite change-of-direction ability.Has a quick release.Very effective at short and intermediate routes with the ability to turn upfield.Wasn’t much of a Blocker, where his Size also hurt him.

Tier 4

Calvin Austin (Memphis)-Undersized,twitched-up WR who played mostly in the slot.Is probably the fastest WR in this class with blazing straight line speed.Has a quick release and lightning quick agility.Isn’t the crispest route runner yet.His size will probably limit him to a slot/Returner role.Wasn’t much of a Tackle breaker.

Romeo Doubs (Nevada)-Outside WR with good size.Has a quick release and can pick up Speed quickly and burst by Defensive Backs.Ran a very limited Route Tree, which took advantage of his long speed.Needs to get better vs. Press Coverage. For me he’s a less fluid and slightly less speedy version of Jameson Williams.

George Pickens (Georgia)-Lanky outside WR with decent Size. Was a good Blocker.Showed great Ball tracking.Had some Highlight catches with hiswide catch radius. Was successful when playing over the Middle.Rarely managed to get off press coverage.Lacks Top End Speed.Tore his ACL in 2021 and barely played in his last year in College.Showed less than ideal work as a Ball catcher.

Khalil Shakir (Boise State)-Played outside and in the slot, though he’ll probably work 99% in the slot in the NFL.Is Quite electric with the Ball in his Hands, which is why he was used as a Returner and out of the Backfield.Tracks the Ball well and showed good Hands. Is an upper Level Route Runner.Rarely faced Press coverage.Doesn’t have Top End Speed.

Drake London (USC)-Tall WR who played exclusively in the slot, then moved outside in 2021.Due to his Height/Wingspan he can pluck the Ball out of the Air.Showed some good Blocking. Was a YAC machine and hard to bring down, especially impressive for his slim Body type..Often exploited open Zones on the Defense.Due to his long LImbs his routes don’t look particularly clean and he looks fairly slow when making cuts. His overall Speed is lacking too. Will have to succeed as a "contested catch" in the NFL.

Alec Pierce (Cincinnati)-Lanky WR who aligned outside and in the slot.Has some impressive and intriguing Athleticism for his Body type.Has a quick release and some impressive lateral movement skills.Has fast Long Speed and is a Deep Threat Option. He’s an advanced route runner too, even against press coverage outside. His Ball tracking isn’t all there as there were some plays where he looked over his wrong shoulder. His Blocking looked half-hearted and was disappointing with his Size.He had too many Drops for my taste. He wasn’t effective in contested or goalline Situations despite his Length.

Justyn Ross (Clemson)-Long WR,played mostly outside with some slot work.Showed outstanding Ball tracking skills as well as Balance and his ability to pluck catches.Has some explosive vertical skills. Was a willing Blocker. Was easy to figure out as a route runner and never adjusted when his opponents figured him out.Has middling Speed.Had spinal surgery in 2020.

Treylon Burks (Arkansas)-Massive WR with good long Speed and huge Hands.Worked almost exclusively in the Slot. Was a mean Blocker. An absolute YAC Threat as he was hard to bring down. Was often schemed open to get him the Ball. His release is on the slow side.Elusiveness at his size is obviously not there. There is 0 evidence that he can win consistently when lined up outside. Was used a lot as a Gadget player behind the LOS.I got serious Cordarelle Patterson/Laviska Shenault vibes with him.

Danny Gray (SMU)-Mid-sized Outside WR who’ll probably move to the slot in the NFL.Is a pretty good athlete.Showed good abilities to track and catch the Ball. Was effective getting YAC.His Routes need work especially when it comes to stacking DBs.His skillset translates better to the slot.

Jerreth Sterns (Western Kentucky/Houston Baptist)-Stocky, undersized WR.Lined up mostly in the slot with a couple outside reps.Is very agile due to his low center of gravity and a Top Tier route runner.Displayed good Hands.Showed great awareness and timing on routes.Lacks in athleticism, especially speed. Was a committed Blocker but not very effective. Is definitely a Slot WR only at the next Level.

Deven Thompkins (Utah State)-Small WR.Mostly played in the Slot.Is incredibly quick and agile and gave most slot CBs fits.Cuts incredibly quick and turn burst downfield. Was a pretty good Blocker at his size.Reminds me of Isaiah McKenzie. His size limits him to a slot & Returner role but he has the ability to beat defenders deep. Not quite as explosive as ome other smaller WRs in this class.

Tier 5

Jahan Dotson (Penn State)-played most snaps on the outside but projects more as a slot WR in the NFL (played more in the slot in 2021)..Did pretty well on in-breaking routes. Was Elite at tracking & catching the Ball.Had a very limited route tree.Had a slow release.Struggled to win outside against physical CBs.was too reliant on winning contested catches.Never tried to adjust when CBs had figured his routes out.Surprisingly lacks agility at his small size.

Tyquan Thornton (Baylor)-Long and thin WR.Has blazing straight line speed. Can get past secondary defenders for long gains. Was a surprisingly committed and effective Blocker, considering his Frame.Has inconsistent Hands.Lacks agility which was visible on curl and comeback routes.Had difficulties shedding physical CBs in press coverage. His release is a bit slow.

Bo Melton (Rutgers)-Undersized WR with really good athleticism.Played outside and in the slot. Was very effective across the Middle and as a gadget WR around the LOS with jets sweeps etc.Showed secure Hands and is a solid route runner, though his route tree was limited. He’s also a competitive Blocker. He struggled to create much in terms of YAC.Despite his Athleticism he doesn’t have sudden explosiveness on tape.

Velus Jones (Tennessee)-WR with a RB Build. Was mostly used in the slot. Was mostly targeted on screen plays and behind the LOS and worked heavily in traffic in a Deebo Samuel-esque role.Showed good Hands and Ball security in traffic. Is a threat in Space.Ran an extremely limited route tree in college but that might be scheme-related usage as he showed a more expanded route tree at the senior Bowl, though he still has to improve a lot there.

Jalen Tolbert (South Alabama)-Outside WR with good Size.Has a good release and turned quick on comeback/curl routes.Catches too many Balls with his Body and had some really worrying Drops.Has less than ideal Athleticism.Didn’t face much press coverage. Not much of a Blocker.

Ty Fryfogle (Indiana)-Outside WR with good size.Showed really good abilities to track the Ball and time his catch.Plays physical and Blocks well. Was a YAC Threat with the Ball in his Hands. Was too reliant on winning contested catches in college.Has pretty average Speed.Isn’t a particularly good Route Runner.

Tier 6

Dontario Drummond (Ole Miss)-WR with a stout build.Aligned mostly in the slot but also outside. Was a good YAC Threat and Returner.Showed a good Double move as a route runner.Has good Speed but doesn’t really stand out in the Department.A lot of his Production was schemed up in Ole Miss’ System.Has a slow release.Isn’t really exceptional in any Area.Seemed worried to get hit when he had to catch a Ball in traffic.

Jaquarii Roberson (Wake Forest)-played in a pretty gimmick-y Delayed RPO Mesh Offense, usually in the slot.Has decent Length but is slender. Was surprisingly effective in contested and jump Ball Situations.Did well at exploiting soft spots in Zone Defense.Has a mediocre athletic profile for a guy his size.Played in an offensive scheme that gave him more time to separate.Has a slow release and struggled in Man coverage.

Kevin Austin jr (Notre Dame)-WR who played mostly outside with some snaps in the slot.Tested as a Top Tier Athlete with Elite Long Speed. Is one of the best Blockers in this class.Needs space to shine and was more effective in the slot.Had huge trouble getting off press coverage where CBs could easily take him out with a jam and lead him to the sideline.Has concerning technique as a pass catcher where he had a lot of drops. Was not effective in contested catch situations.

That Jordan Davis 40 is absurd, but I'm still not touching him with a top 10 pick (honestly probably not even top 20)

Jordan Davis 40 time is up there with the most impressive combine stats of all time.

I wouldn’t be mad if the bills drafted him in the first round even though he’s only a two down D lineman. Him next to Oliver would be a beastly duo.

9 picks inside the first 4 rounds.

Exciting draft for Ravens fans.

Id happily draft that dude anywhere outside of the top 15. Hes a monster.

Tight End

Tier 2

Trey McBride (Colorado State)
-Stout TE with impressive Receiver skills.Has a quick Release and is one of the best, if not the best Route runners in this TE class.Showed great ability to track the Ball and showed great Hands. Was always a real Threat to make plays with the Ball. Was a committed Blocker but his ability vs. DEs is relatively untested, especially with a step up to the NFL.Has good-but-not-great Athleticism.

Daniel Bellinger (San Diego State)-TE with good Size and Top End Athleticism.Has a nice Balance with his Blocking and Receiving work. Was a really good Blocker who can easily block wide at the 2nd level, ideal for an Offense running wide zone a lot..As a Receiver he demonstrated solid work as a route runner and with good Hands. Was underused in college due to his Team being very run-heavy.His Arms are a bit on the shorter side

Jeremy Ruckert (Ohio State)-Good-sized TE.Notoriously underused as a Receiver in Ohio State’s offense, which mostly uses TEs as Blockers.Showed some real athleticism and skill as a Route runner and pass catcher to beat Defenses.Had a ton of Snaps as a Blocker in which he fared well, though he wasn’t nearly the Blocker that Luke Farrell was on his Team as he also got blown up a couple times.Has huge potential in an Offense that actually involves TEs in the passing game.

Greg Dulcich (UCLA)-Slightly undersized, athletic TE.Was one of the few real Threats as a Pass catcher at TE.Has deceptive Speed to get behind Defenses and long Arms for his Frame to high point Footballs.Wasn’t used much as a Blocker, which tells me he isn’t that good at it, at least not yet.Has huge potential for NFL offenses.

Jake Ferguson (Wisconsin)-Good-sized TE.Had a ton of snaps in College.Showed NFL abilities in all Areas as a route runner, with his Hands, ability to break Tackles.Often showed up in big Situations (3rd,4th downs,Endzone)Was a slightly above average Blocker. Is a solid Athlete but far from explosive.

Tier 3

Jalen Wydermyer (Texas A&M)-great combination of size and technique. Was heavily involved as a Receiver & Blocker and did well at both.A surprisingly good route runner at his size with sure Hands who can also “Moss” people on contested catches..Was a major part of A&Ms offense. Is not a Top Level Athlete.

Peyton Hendershot (Indiana)-Athletic TE with good size.Showed good abilities as a route runner, though he was limited by Indiana’s offensive scheme.Showed solid Hands and good Speed. Was a below average Blocker.Got arrested for domestic Battery and kinda got shut out of Indiana’s offense as a Receiving target.

Jelani Woods (Virginia/Oklahoma State)-Tall TE with explosive Athleticism. Was primarily used as a Blocker until he transferred to Virginia. Is a good Blocker with good functional strength, though he sometimes got out-leveraged due to having too high of a pad level. As a Receiver he is an attractive target due to his Length and Wingspan. While he tested great at the Combine, he is still a very raw route runner who telegraphes a lot of his cuts. His Speed and agility looked never like that with pads on.

Charlie Kolar (Iowa State)-Long TE who was heavily involved in his Teams offense.Above average to good at every aspect of being a TE.A pretty good Blocker, pretty good route runner.Showed decent Hands.Won’t impress anybody with his Athleticism which severely limits his ceiling.

Tier 4

Chigoziem Okonkwo (Maryland)-Undersized but compact TE with Top tier athleticism. Mostly lined up in-line with some work in the slot. Was a relentless Blocker despite being undersized.Showed explosiveness and route-running ability with secure Hands.Would be a good option for Teams running a wide zone scheme where he could convert to an offensive FB role a la Kyle Juszczyk.

Nick Muse (South Carolina)-Decent-size TE with good athleticism.Lined up in-line or in the slot.Definitely trends towards a Receiving TE where his main strengths lie as a solid route runner and with secure Hands.Played in a terrible offense, which didn’t use him all that well.Lacks an explosive element. Is still a really bad blocker despite a lot of blocking work in college.

Derrick Deese jr (San Jose State)-Undersized TE who looks more like an oversized WR.Aligned mostly in the slot and at TE.Was good at tracking and high-pointing the Ball.Showed good Hands. Is a solid route runner.Wasn’t asked to block much but looked decent when he had to block Edge rushers or LBs.Looks a bit too thick, like a big WR who ate himself to TE.Has subpar Speed.

Austin Allen (Nebraska)-Tall,lean Receiving TE.Has good athleticism. Is a big target with his Length. Was a surprisingly decent route runner with his length who can run deeper routes f.e. seam routes. He showed decent Hands. While he did line up at TE and FB to block, he wasn’t particularly good at it and I doubt he has the required strength to block in the NFL.

James Mitchell (Virginia Tech)-Slightly undersized TE.Ran an expanded route tree with secure hands and good YAC ability. Was a surprisingly good Blocker, especially when he could get out in space on wide zone runs.As a pass blocker he sometimes had his arms too far apart.Did have a season-ending knee injury last season.

Cole Turner (Nevada)-Lanky Receiving TE with a lot of raw athletic potential.Lined up at TE and in the slot.Has very good Long Speed and agility for the Position.Showed good Hands and adjusts well to the Ball.Still a really raw route runner, needs to work on his release and cuts. Was a terrible Blocker.Probably won’t see much playing time his first year due to his Blocking having to be developed.

Tier 5

Isaiah Likely (Coastal Carolina)-Undersized Receiving TE.Lined up at TE,in the slot and in the Backfield. Was a YAC Threat and was really good working through traffic. Was a committed Blocker but lacks Power and was inconsistent with his Technique. Is a bit of a Body catcher and wasn’t effective in contested catch situations.A lot of his Production came against Zone coverage.Wasn’t as agile or explosive as i’d hoped for an undersized TE.

Cade Otton (Washington)-slightly undersized TE.Had to do a lot of Blocking work in College and was a pretty good Blocker for his Size with clean Technique and high effort. Is a solid Route runner at the Bread & Butter TE routes. Is a fairly average Athlete.Showed some deeply worrying Hands with too many terrible Drops.

Grant Calcaterra (SMU)-Undersized Receiving TE.Lined up a lot at WR. Showed good Hands and good ability to make catches in traffic. Was a good open field Blocker but most of those were from a WR alignment where he took on DBs instead of Edge defenders or LBs.Was a decent route runner but could get crisper and quicker at shorter routes.Lacks length and agility.

Surprised you have DeMarvin Leal as high as you do. Seems people are down on him after this season. He reminds me a lot of Richard Seymour back in Georgia, so I'm hoping he lives up to his potential.

I still think he might be the most talented DE in this class. He put on some bad weight last season in order to play more DT but I'd definitely put him mainly at DE.

Guard

Summary: Pretty deep class with positional versatility.

Tier 1

Dylan Parham (Memphis)-Undersized Guard with long Limbs.Has the best pass blocking Technique among this Guard class.Mirrors DTs extremely well.Plays light on his Feet. Can drop his Hips and anchor against power rushers and was rarely surprised by Speed rushers. As a Run Blocker he is ideal for an outside Zone-heavy scheme with his movement skills.Did really well against better competition at the Senior Bowl and against Mississippi State. He also looked like a viable Center when the coaches moved him there at the Senior Bowl.

Tier 2

Jamaree Salyer (Georgia)-Short but Stout.Played Tackle.Has a powerful core and could easily neutralize Power rushers.Has a powerful first punch and showed great Hand Placement. As a Run Defenderin a traditional Inside Gap scheme he could open up holes.Lacks athleticism and looked stiff against really athletic pass Rushers.Showed inconsistent Footwork. Will probably be a really effective Guard in the NFL.

Cade Mays (Tennessee/Georgia)-Stout build.Played Tackle & Guard in college.Has a strong power Base and is an absolute asset in run Blocking as he’s relentlessly moving SEC D Liners.Seemed to have some really strong Arms and grip.As a pass Blocker he’s quick out of his stance and could easily deal with power. He did struggle at times with speed rushers, especially at Tackle as he was slow to get to the Edge.He lacks the Hip fluidity and quickness to play Tackle in the NFL.

Ikem Ekwonu (North Carolina State)-Has good size.Played OG & OT, even switching multiple times within games.Might be the best pure run Blocker in this class. An absolute road grater with a powerful punch who plays to the whistle and beyond.Unfortunately, there is a big discrepancy between his run and pass Blocking. In pass pro he was often late off the snap and allowing quick pass rushers to get by him.His hand placement was also an issue.Might be limited to Guard in the NFL.

Kenyon Green (Texas A&M)-Big,stocky OG who switched to Tackle.Showed top level power when getting his Hands on Defenders. Was a big Asset as a Run Blocker, as he could easily take on Defenders. As a Pass Blocker his power translates too.He could neutralize power rushers and showed a good Anchor.Looked slow on the move and was missing blocking assignments when he was pulling.I don’t think he has the range or Arm length to play Tackle in the NFL.

Cain Madden (Notre Dame/Marshall)-Nasty and relentless run blocker who moved DTs at will. Was a very good Pass Blocker but it’s the weaker part of his game.has a low center of gravity and got under the pad level of his opponents.he surveyed his right side and helped out his RT whenever he could. His Arms look to be on the shorter side and a few DTs were able to get inside his chest plate but he has a strong anchor and recovers well. Was susceptible to rip & pull counters.Could move to Center.

Tier 3

Zion Johnson (Boston College)-played OG and OT.A great Athlete.Showed good strength and could easily handle Defenders as a run blocker.Showed good Hand placement.Had severe Problems in pass protection at OT especially when it comes to Strength.. Took a lot of bad Angles.was off balance a lot, made him susceptible to the Bullrush and dip moves. His Arms look on the shorter side.A move to Center might be interesting for him.

Darian Kinnard (Kentucky)-Big Tackle.Really experienced run Blocker in a Zone run scheme. Was a battering Ram and is athletic enough to be an open field lead blocker.Didn’t have a lot of pass blocking snaps in Kentucky’s run-heavy offense but he was good when he had too.Has quick Feet. His Hands are inconsistent and his Arms look a bit short for his size.Could easily move to Guard in the nFL

Josh Sills (Oklahoma State/West Virginia)-Long frame.Played OT and OG.Has a lot of snaps under his Belt.Very fundamentally sound Blocker in both Areas. Was a good Blocker in space.Has a strong first punch and showed a good anchor.Plays very aggressive and to the whistle. Was overaggressive at times when Defenders caught him off Balance. Is a pretty average Athlete. Is more likely a full time Guard in the NFL.

Tier 4

Sean Rhyan (UCLA)-Stout OT.Plays with really good power and core strength.Has a really good first punch and uses his Arms well in general. As a run Blocker he drives Defenders and can easily do multiple Blocks. His Speed off the snap and getting to the Edge is concerning. His Arms look to be on the shorter side.Might have to move to Guard in the NFL.

Justin Shaffer (Georgia)-Average-size Guard.A pretty good Athlete for his position. Was a battering Ram as a downhill Run Blocker.Easily moved Defenders and put up Combo Blocks like it’s nobody's business.Always up for shenanigans (diving late on piles, blindsiding Defenders). Was a lot more inconsistent as a Pass Blocker with worrying Footwork.Missed a worrying amount of Blocking assignments on more complex plays.

Ed Ingram (LSU)-Slightly undersized Guard.Showed some of the best Pass Blocking Technique in this class.Showed Top Tier Hand Placement and a Top Tier Anchor and leverage. As a Run Blocker he was effective in an inside Zone scheme. Is not a particularly good Athlete, which makes him scheme-specific.When he lost reps he was usually too slow out the gates.Could’ve been more active looking for Blocks when he didn’t have somebody to block.

Andrew Stueber (Michigan)-Has good size.Played Tackle. Was a good run Blocker who can open gaps but is not ideal for a lot of outside zone systems. As a Pass blocker he displayed a strong grip and anchor.Could be brought off-balance.Struggled against quicker Edge rushers. Is a limited, kinda clunky Athlete, which limits him to playing Guard in the NFL

Cordell Volson (North Dakota State)-Average sized Tackle with good Length. Was an asset on traditional run plays as he works hard and can move Defenders to open gaps.Looked solid as a pass blocker but against FCS competition. He looked pretty stiff and slow kicking out and in the open field on Zone runs.Isn’t much of an Athlete. His NFL future is probably at Guard.

Lecitus Smith (Virginia Tech)-slightly undersized Guard.Plays light on his Feet. Was an effective Run Blocker and has the capability to play in Outside Zone schemes.Showed good positioning and Hand Placement as a Pass Blocker.Has an inconsistent anchor.Did miss Blocks on Outside Zone runs when athletic LBs were able to fly by him.

Tier 6

Marquis Hayes (Oklahoma)-Guard with good Size.Has a lot of Power to him, which he mainly used to win Blocks.Often had his Arms too far outside the Defenders chest when Blocking. Not a good Athlete with really clunky agility.Too slow and plodding.Has to massively improve his Technique.

ikem, ojabe, sauce, stingley, Davis, penning, walker....

who will be available at 14

Ojabo will probably because of his (currently) bad Run Defense.
Stingley will, though not sure about dropping to 14.
Davis might last because he's not a 3 down Player.

I'm interested in your offensive tackles rankings

soon.

Center

Summary:
Pretty bad Class but Linderbaum is great + there's some Guards who could switch and be good.

Tier 1

Tyler Linderbaum (Iowa)-undersized Center. converted wrestler/defensive tackle.Incredibly athletic and gets to the 2nd level really quick.Ideal to run an outside Zone scheme.Due to his wrestling background he deals incredibly well with power rushers in pass protection. He knows how to use his leverage to beat bigger DTs.For a relatively recent Center convert his Snaps looked really clean too.Putting on another 5-10lbs. would still be nice.Doesn’t have ideal Arm length and let DTs get into his chest plate and handle him a few times.

Tier 2

Dohnovan West (Arizona State)-Undersized Center with good Athleticism.Used his leverage really well and has a good anchor against power rushers, which his wrestling background is clearly recognizable..Has good agility in the open field and was effective on inside and outside zone runs. His Footwork in pass sets is still sloppy.

Tier 3

Cameron Jurgens (Nebraska)-Slightly undersized Center with Top level athleticism.Has elite quickness off the snap and gets into position early. His athleticism is an absolute asset on outside Zone runs, where he can cover a lot of ground to make Blocks. As a Pass Blocker he had issues with getting his Arms inside and lost quite a few leverage battles.Generally needs to get better at holding up to power rushers.

Tier 4

Alec Lindstrom (Boston College)-undersized Center.Experienced at the position with pre snap reads.Technically proficient with his Footwork, snaps and Blocking.Showed a worrying lack of strength when Blocking.DTs overpowered him way too often. He struggled to open running lanes when blocking inside.Didn’t have a strong anchor.

Doug Kramer (Illinois)-Undersized Center with good Athleticism.Played with good positioning.Has good hand placement and strength for his size.Showed good work as an inside run Blocker who can move defenders.Generally showed a lot of solid traits but nothing exceptional. He was lacking in lateral movement and wasn’t much of a 2nd level Blocker.

Luke Wattenberg (Washington)-Lanky and athletic center.Has a strong first punch and grip. Was quick off the snap. Was a pretty good Run blocker on inside runs.Didn’t really play many outside zone snaps.Tended to be sloppy with his Feet and stiff, which led to him losing his balance and ending up on his back a lot.

Tier 6

James Empey (BYU)-slightly undersized Center.Surprisingly disappointing watch despite his high PFF grade.Didn’t show much of an anchor in Run Blocking. His Hand placeent looked timid. His Footwork looked skittish.Too many Bend-don't-Break snaps from him, especially against the competition he faced. He’s also older already because of his Mormon mission. He was a pretty decent run blocker but, again, not against the best competition.

Michael Maietti (Missouri)-Undersized Center. Was decently effective as an outside Zone run Blocker.Picked up Stunts pretty well.Has short Arms and often fails to get them into the Defenders chest.Often failed to hold up to power and had to fight tooth & nail not to get bowled over on simple Bullrushes.Doesn’t have much of an Anchor.Doesn’t have the required strength for the NFL level.

Offensive Tackle

Tier 1

Evan Neal (Alabama)-Huge Tackle with great athleticism for his size. Was a beastly run blocker, even on outside zone runs and as a downfield lead blocker.Kicks out really quick which helps him take on speed rushers off the Edge.He has a really good arm technique too.Regularly neutralized Power rushers. Was lunging a few times.I’ve seen a rare busted blitz assignment. He has lost a few snaps to Speed rushers because his size still has its limits.Might have to watch his weight and could have some nagging injuries with it.Could easily move to Guard and be great there but that’d be a waste.

Tier 3

Thayer Munford (Ohio State)-Good-sized OT.Has become a really clean and technically proficient Pass Blocker.Shows great Feet and especially Hand placement.Could stuff Power rushers and control speed rushers.Moved to Guard in 2021 an performed really well there, improving as a Run Blocker. He’s also not a particularly great Athlete.

Nicholas Petit-Frere (Ohio State)-Athletic OT with good size.Is quick off the snap and into his pass set.Could cover a lot of space.Has long Arms and neutralized pass rushers with good Hand usage.Has improved a lot as a run blocker, though he is clearly better on outside zone runs in space and on the move.Didn’t anchor particularly well. When he allowed pressure it was to his inside shoulder.

Charles Cross (Mississippi State)-Lean,athletic OT with long Arms.Has a lot of experience in pass protection in Mike Leach’sAir Raid system. Was quick off the Blocks.Dealt surprisingly well with power rushers considering his smaller Frame. Was good at recognizing and taking on stunts. Was an effective run blocker, despite not doing it that often. Was susceptible to really athletic pass rushers who beat him around the Edge, often with swipe moves, evident when he was up against Azeez Ojulari & Adam Anderson. His Footwork often gets clunky when he chases guys around the Edge.

Bernhard Raimann (Central Michigan)-converted TE, though he comes with pretty good size and great Length now.Has a really strong Base and a strong grip.He kept his Athleticism while adding weight. Was an Asset as a Run Blocker as he could execute quick Combo Blocks.
Had some trouble recognizing Stunts and had Rushers get under his Pads a little too much.

Trevor Penning (Northern Iowa)-Long and big-framed OT. Has a strong base and could steamroll Defenders as a run Blocker.Gets his Hands on rushers quick in pass protection and showed a strong anchor. Was surprisingly mobile as a Blocker in Space.Did lose snaps vs. Speed rushers where his Hips looked stiff.Could be out-leveraged when Defenders got into his shoulders.

Tier 4

Abraham Lucas (Washington State)-Really experienced Pass Blocker in Leach’s Air Raid system.A good but not exceptional Athlete. Was a really good Pass Blocker but not perfect.Did get out leveraged at times due to his Height.Didn’t offer much as a run Blocker and generally isn’t a big Power guy.

Obinna Eze (TCU/Memphis)-Long OT.Surprisingly agile for his size and gets off the snap quick.Gets his long Arms into Defenders quick and showed good strength. In run Blocking he showed that he could drive defenders and he did well as a 2nd level blocker. Was at times susceptible to speed rushers beating him around the Edge.Did miss blocking assignments when having to pull.Didn’t face too many talented pass rushers.

Daniel Faalele (Minnesota)-Gargantuan Tackle (6’9,near 400lbs.) who is quick for his size.Has good Hips and handled leverage well against smaller (for him) Defenders.Near unstoppable as a run Blocker as he just swallows up Defenders in his path.Had 0 Problems taking on power rushers. As human size has its limits he did sometimes struggle against speed rushers who beat him around the Edge. Not sure if he really has the speed to play Tackle.

Tyler Smith (Tulsa)-Tackle with good athleticism. Was a relentless Run Blocker who showed a lot of power and was able to pull and get to the 2nd level. He has a quick get-off.He needs a lot of improvement as a Pass Blocker. He often failed to get his Hands inside and lost the point of leverage, which made him play on his backfoot a lot.He WILL commit holding penalties when beat or to gain an advantage.

Tier 5

Max Mitchell (Louisiana)-Lighter OT with good Length. Was an exceptional Run Blocker on Gap but especially on Zone Runs where he could get to the 2nd level quickly and open up big Holes. In Pass Blocking he works from a wide Base and was good at preventing DEs from setting the Edge.He showed really good Hand Placement and wasn’t overwhelmed by Power rushers though he could improve his Anchor.

Tier 6

Kellen Diesch (Arizona State)-Has good Length but less-than-ideal weight.Has some of the cleanest Footwork in this Class. Is quick off the snap.Didn’t show much of a Power Element to his Game.Did relatively little outside Zone Blocking, which he would be ideal for.Had a couple Problems with quick Edge Rushers.

Rasheed Walker (Penn State)-OT with good size. Was quick out of the Blocks and into his stance.Run Blocking is his strong point with him getting to the 2nd level quick and driving Defenders back. Was good at sniffing out stunts. In Pass protection he was susceptible to Push/Pull moves as pass rushers got him off balance too quick. He often lost his grip to swipe moves while Blocking too.

Luke Goedeke (Central Michigan)-Played RT.Was a pretty good Outside Zone Blocker.Lost Pass Blocking reps vs. Speed and power rushers.Lost a lot of Reps with an apparent lack of power and lack of ability to anchor.Has wonky Footwork, which led to him getting caught off Balance a lot.His Arms are on the shorter side and he often failed to get his Arms inside to block.Supposedly moving to Guard, which is gonna highlight his lack of power even more.
