Not enough mistakes in the writing to be that toad.
Not enough mistakes in the writing to be that toad.
I'm not from that State but I respect Mark and his family and wife for the fact they stay together through all of this stuff. Donated to his campaign around 200 bucks over the last year.
I was being tongue in cheek, but I do think the hypocrisy is worth pointing out. Just a few days ago, Trump was kingmaker and a lot of people thought a red wave would come on the basis on his endorsement. As soon as he loses, they pretend like they never wanted him.
Teflon don has certainly been chipped away at and he does finally start to appear vulnerable, but I think you're underestimating the fervor of his base. If Trump goes against Desanctemonious in a head to head, he still has a lot of support. In a primary, Trump could win if he controls the narrative, in the generel Desantis has greater appeal for sure.
Trump going head to head with Desantis, if that happens, will be a sight to behold no matter the outcome. The GOP would back Desantis but they might regret that.
The sentencing in the US isn't more lenient than most developed countries though, and you have more people per capita in prison than anywhere. 3 times the incarceration rate of here in Australia. You have a shockingly low clearance rate for homicide cases for a developed country though. Only around half your murders have convictions compared to 90% plus in other developed nations.
This isn't limited to cities either, and your worst states are Georgia, Maryland, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri and Louisiana. How many of those have lenient legislation or Democrat administration?
You had decades of "tough on crime" and "war on drugs" policies from both you major parties, and your rates are still comparable to those of undeveloped or developing nations.
Arizona is quite clearly on the verge of shifting full-blown blue, demographic destiny is coming home to roost. Going into this cycle, Dems already held both US Senate seats and 5/9 in the US House of Representatives. In the state legislature, Republicans are clinging to single seat majorities in both chambers. If Lake is defeated and Hobbs becomes governor, it's lights out and over with. It'll also go from arguably the most pro-2A state in the entire nation to California Compliant with all of those rights stripped. They are going to cuck law abiding citizens hard and that is fucking surreal, it's absolutely untenable. I can only hope it can be held off until I'm back home in NoDak.
Almost all of the main MAGA candidates Trump endorsed either got shitcanned or severely underperformed. I do believe Kari Lake can still pull off the AZ gubernatorial race though. She has a different level of charisma from the other goofs, Lake has also been in the (local) public eye for over 20 years and is very well liked as a former Phoenix news anchor for a FOX affiliate station. She never needed Trump's endorsement to be competitive, likely got an even bigger boost from DeSantis flying into Arizona to campaign for her.
The problem is that if Trump is shoved aside in the primary, he will run independent and burn any GOP hopes of retaking the White House to the ground. Biden's present abysmal approval rating would need to be halved, the economy and inflation would need to be twice as bad as they are now for DeSantis to overcome that in a national election with DJT and his cultist followers pulling votes away.
Trump ultimately doesn't give a single fuck about the well being of the Republican party (nor the country for that matter), he is 100% entirely about himself and feeding his ego. Republicans desperately need this dude dead, in prison or at the very least rendered ineligible to run. He is massive fucking problem at this juncture, an absolute albatross around the neck.
Those states you listed may be mostly Red, but the large cities in them with massive crimes issues are all heavy blue and run by Democrats for decades
Now... You want to have a discussion why heavy blue cities always seem to have massive crime issues?
But Desantis is a bully and Trump is a bully too. I can’t imagine DeSantis is just gonna take it on the chin from diaper don and take the high road. He’s gonna have to speak to his maga constituency some way or another, and we all know maga loves themselves a bully
Yeah that’s true. He was completely silenced when that other guy said something about him going for the presidency during their debate and just stood there looking dumb.I think he might, which is why I don't think he can hold his own against Trump. In the debate against Crist, any time Crist would take a shot at him or try to challenge him directly, he'd literally just stand there like a mannequin blank-face until Crist was finished, then when his turn came he'd start talking about the moderator question and not address what Crist said at all. He did it the whole hour lol and only engaged one time. Against Trump I think that would end him because Trump would go balls deep with ignorance and he'd be just standing there lol.
Trump can get more voiceferous in speaking to the MAGA base; he can highlight how DeSantis is RINO who gets funding from establishment donors.I agree completely... Trump's short time is done, he just doesn't know it yet (or never will).
All Desantis needs to do is completely ignore Trump like he doesn't exist and Trump is going to completely self implode. He won't be able to help himself.
A little while back I did a little “research” about those crime statistics, you have to take my word on it because I can’t remember where I penned it down. But out of the top 5 highest increase in crime area’s were 2 republican, 2 democrats, 1 independent. Top 10 was also pretty even. So the whole blue cities/ state narrative is bullshit anyway. Just like there has been an increase in rural area’s and not only cities.Weird that these isn't a single conservative run utopia in the country if you guys are so good at it and democrats are so bad at it.
The more reasonable explanation is that conservative politicians and leaders are so self serving, they don't bother trying to help communities that may not vote for them. They neglect cities in their own states because it doesn't benefit them to try.
The largest cities run by Republicans are Fort Worth and Jacksonville, both with similar or worse rates of crime than anywhere else in the country. Republicans don't run a single city with a million or more people.

Treat him like the glorified vaccine salesman that he is and remind everybody that he allowed most of the country to stay shutdown on his watch.I agree completely... Trump's short time is done, he just doesn't know it yet (or never will).

<Lmaoo>Lol yep, a few times too. There was another part where Crist talked about home insurance and how Ron wasn't proactive so it's sky high, and that he'd stop talking if Ron wants extra time now to explain his failure etc. And again he didn't even turn his head or acknowledge him. Just stood there like a mannequin LOL. I mean you can't just stand there like a goof haha I didn't think that was a good look at all. Especially considering the (R) base it might destroy him if faced against Trump in a primary because they'd think he was weak unlike the "Big Bad Trump" lol.

From a purely real-politik standpoint: Dem base should vote for Trump in the GOP primaries for 2024. Any state that doesn't have open primaries, they can switch party affiliation. If I were DeSantis, I wouldn't even bother with 2024 tbh. The GOP itself may be desperate to retake the executive branch, but what the hell is the rush for him or the trajectory of his political career? The dude is 44 and can just stay comfy running Florida for another four years, complete his full term in 2026 and then go ALL-IN on a two-year POTUS campaign for what will be a wide-open 2028.
Sure, the clock is probably ticking for right-wing politics and Republicans to be able to win national elections but it'll still be plenty possible at that point (#ElectoralCollegeBless) and the public is usually primed for change after eight years of any party being in power.

Translation: “Please love MEEEEEEEE!!!!”
