They won't touch Chase.
As for your second point, I've thought about that a lot. It seems too easy to come to that conclusion.
Is it easier to believe Kyle couldn't see Chase's car?

I don't think so. Though there's almost no visibility on the right side, I think there was enough of Chase's car ahead of Kyle. From basically the left rear forward. Even then, where was the spotter?
The right front corner of their car is the easiest part for the driver to see. It would be good to know what the spotter was telling Kyle. I suspect the spotter was informing Kyle that Harvick was closing on him as trying to get some side draft from Chase was slowing them both. That would have made Kyle want to get back in line. The spotters usually tells the drivers about the cars behind them not the ones in front of them.
Here is some video of what a driver sees from a helmet cam view.
jesus, wtf happened to truck racing?
this is fucking horrible
Kyle Busch win a damn race. I got 20 dollars to win 200. The rest of my drivers are bums, so it's all in on Kyle
Kyle ended up with a pretty good day in a rather odd race. Harvick was fast at the start but the car got loose before the end of the first stage and Truex was fast, winning the first two stages. Busch was slower than Truex. The teams got Harvick's and Kyle's cars better. Truex, whose car was good on the long runs early wasn't as good later as he ran second and Busch got by him in the closing laps. Bowyer was fast for much of the second stage but wore out his right rear tire and had to make an extra pit stop.
Bubba Wallace wasn't in very good shape at the end of the race. He passed out and was carried to the pit wall. Then he was sitting on the wall being interviewed, his eyes rolled back in his head and he almost fell over. They interviewed Kyle then they went back to show Bubba sitting on the pit wall and it looked like he passed out again. NASCAR really wanted an interview with a black driver today but it didn't work out.
That was odd. It was almost like he was having a mild seizure or something when his speech slurred and his eyes rolled back in his head.
The camera panned in to what they thought was Bubba having an emotional moment and then they quickly realized that wasn't what was happening at all and they cut away. Hope he's ok.
Some people don't consider racers athletes but to drive a car at those speeds in the heat and humidity for over 3 hours takes a lot out of them physically. The forces on the body in the turns can push a driver down into the seat harder as well as sideways into the seat. The driver still has to breathe with all of those forces acting on them. They didn't have any yesterday but they have had thermometers inside the cars showing temperatures over 130 degrees. They do have duct-work connected to their helmets to bring in some outside air. Many drivers become dehydrated.
Crazy thing is the insides of the cars feel like Cadillacs compared to the cars of yesteryear where they didn't have cool packs or a whole lot of ventilation. They also dealt with the floor boards burning blisters into their heels. I remember pit stops where they used to hand them a ziplock bag full of ice to put down the front of their fire suits. Drivers even admitted that fatigue played a huge part in who was still fast at the end of some races. I think Jeff Gordon even talked about having to hold his breath during the corners at Bristol because it was difficult to breathe with the G force load on him.
