Sorry to post SNL here (I usually don't watch so don't get too riled up), but I was laughing pretty hard at the Biden impression:

The Best (IMO). It's legit how Graham was acting. <45>

It's a joke that this kind of cheerleading could get published.

If Warren wanted to define herself in opposition to Sanders, she wouldn’t need to tie herself in knots. Where Sanders talks about revolution, her description of the American economy amounts to a restoration.

How many times has Warren described what she wants as "big, structural change"? These are words that have revolutionary overtones. Just because she hasn't used the word "revolution" doesn't mean she doesn't want one. "Restoration" has a more positive connotation than "revolution", so this clown describes Warren's vision as the former.

Where socialism imagines greater concentrations of power—greater state planning, greater public provisioning of goods—her vision ultimately points in the direction of a more decentralized, more competitive economy. Sanders’s keyword is equality; her best speeches have extolled liberty.

This has to be a joke. Warren's proposed Department of Economic Development, "Accountable Capitalism", breaking up big tech, and the Green New Deal would entail a massive increase in state planning. Using the EEOC to prohibit transgender discrimination and forcing schools across the country to affirm transgender identities are moves of centralization, not decentralization. Essentially giving people $50,000 is a massive increase in public provision of goods, and when the money is going to people who went to the country's most prestigious universities it hardly makes the economy more competitive between the recipients and those who didn't go to one of these schools.

By contrasting herself with Sanders, she could press the case for her electability. Donald Trump has already begun to portray socialism as a foreign incursion, but Warren’s populism is in the American grain. It draws on a political vocabulary that traces back to Thomas Jefferson.

Got it. Sanders is the legacy of Lenin, Warren is the legacy of Jefferson.

Sanders is a loon. Anyone that buys into his free this and that bullshit without realizing it’s all paid for by raising taxes is an idiot. Warren hates minorities. The Green New Deal has AOC on the case, that alone makes it bar tender level professional.

Guy that has lived and worked in DC for years wants the establishment's candidtae to win? Stop the presses!

Also, his book How Soccer Explains the World was good.

I would encourage my fellow Bernie Bros to think of it like this... Do you want to "restore" an antique chest of drawers or do you want to "revolutionize" it? When you think of it in these terms you suddenly realize how absurd Bernie's approach really is.

This article was a slam dunk. Thank you, Atlantic. I am now Team Warren! WooHoo!!

Those are undoubtedly his real views. It just goes to show how easily people are corrupted by personal ambition and the temptation of power when the opportunity presents itself.

What is this a reference to? Just Pete deciding to run against Bernie?

Yea, I do wonder how much he’s thought about that the past three years. I was surprised he didn’t at the time.

He stepped aside because it was “Hillary’s turn”. But I do believe things might be very different today had he run in 2016.

My old chest of drawers was constantly exploiting my labor so I had to just give it away

Those are undoubtedly his real views. It just goes to show how easily people are corrupted by personal ambition and the temptation of power when the opportunity presents itself. This dude is a Rhodes Scholar who speaks seven languages. Pete could go do or be basically anything he wants (including a rare principled progressive politician) and this is the road he chooses? It's disappointing.

A lot of these establishment Democrat politicians have these very impressive credentials and accomplishments. Bill Clinton and Cory Booker jump to mind. But they all turn mainstream really quick.

Meanwhile, the few real progressive politicians of the last decade or so (Bernie and Dennis Kucinich jump to mind) have more... modest accomplishments. Seems like being inside these elite institutions for too long inevitably endears you to the establishment.

She is a habitual liar with 0 charisma and far and away the worst candidate left... after biden (only cause bidens senile). I still to this day dont understand how shes got ant traction

Did she finally agree to have ALL her cabinet picks decided by transgender children?

You must have missed the Wikileaks e-mails where DNC is ordering hit pieces on political rivals. Is normal journalism.

That sort of thing is pretty typical of their "Ideas" section though right?
It's the section for heavily opinionated and often contrasting pieces.

Her handlers have balls to make her say that live for all to see. That was hysterical when she said that.

I'm not sure. I've read good articles from The Atlantic. Maybe they've lowered their standards. The piece in the OP reads like something I would have written in 11th grade.

I'm fine with preferring Warren over Sanders.

But the reasoning in that article was either profoundly uninformed or just dishonest. In no way, shape, or form does Sanders advocate more concentration of power than Warren. Warren seeks a top-down, technocratic, reformist government that seeks to force corporations to carry out the public good. Sanders seeks a more leveled society, where workers dictate those policies within the corporate firms.
