Its in way too long time.. just holds up everything. I feel more interims are coming..

Gotten to.
Yeah, i mean not really but as much as you can get to someone on the Internet. I fuckin hate the fact that the mma, a sport I liked a lot, is becoming a purely prizefighting wwe travesty.

Destroying their credibility for short term profit, and there event isn't any insurance that this will work long term

It's a ridiculous match-up, but fuck it, it's official. So with that said, have to root for the GOAT Welterweight.

I know I'm late, but I just found out and honestly, I think I'm done with MMA (or at least UFC) for awhile.

On top of all the other justified criticism of this fight, it's not even an interesting style match up.

If they stack the card, I'll probably buy it... but... that's a bit shit tbh.

It'd probably be a terrible fight.

He stopped saying he needed to bulk up years ago moron. Back in 2011 they said GSP would fight at MW at the same weight he fights at WW, ~185. That was after he DID bulk up. GSP used to walk around in the 170s, and was ~180 as late as Penn II in 2009.

GSP has been saying his whole career he could make LW, back when they were talking MW in 2011 they said GSP could make LW easy.

You really should not talk about things you are clueless about.
You're looking for straw mans to justify something that you know is wrong.

He's cherry picking a fight in a division he knows he can't hang in.

If this was any other fighter you would be saying the opposite. You know aswell as everyone else, that the only guy he will face at MW is Bisping.

Gotta be honest - I hate this as much as I love it. And I like both guys, so I don't even know who to root for here.

A fuckin farce.

Bisping doesnt want to defend against the real contenders, only old men and fighters in lower divisions. GSP been ducking Andeson it seems though.

Yoel kills either of em anyways.

I don't even want to imagine what Yoel would do to Anderson.

I feel like a bad GSP fan in that I think he might lose and I'm on the fence.

I guess the question is: Can Bisping stop the takedowns? If so it's a toss up as Bisping is a master grinder and can grind out a W.

Infinitely better wrestler with much more power and speed in his hands... yes, that was essentially my point. I can't even tell if you were genuinely asking such a question.

I don't expect to see the GSP who manhandled Alves and Penn. I'm expecting a bulked up, slower GSP with the hesitation we saw vs Hendricks.

Infinitely better wrestler? Maybe offensively but Bisping has stellar TDD and he is bigger than Woodley. You don't seem to factor in the size in your equation. GSP has proven that he can deal with "better wrestlers" in the past. Also Bisping has "infinitely better" gas tank than woodley. Oh and about who hits harder. Still a MW vs a WW. A WW who ktfo Rockhold and dropped Silva lately.

If you want to see what GSP would do to Woodley just watch Rory vs Woodley.

Contender fights mean absolutely nothing at this point. Jacare vs Romero rematch for a shitty interim title now I guess?

<1>

If GSP wins it's between Nick Diaz or Anderson Silva, GSP is back for the money so just forget about Romero, they might arrange a interim belt for Romero against someone else while GSP promise to relinquish the MW belt in case of win in a fight between: GSP vs Silva/Diaz.

When WME purchased the UFC, I was excited that they'd be able to better promote the fighters on their roster. Sadly, this does not appear to be the case and they'd rather just coast on the names of fading established names for the sake of short term profit. I wouldn't be surprised if they followed your prediction and booked those matchups but I anticipate that they'll be sorely disappointed by the returns on either "superfight." GSP and Diaz already fought a lackluster fight and we're now going on 6 years since Nick Diaz recorded a win. At this stage, Nate's probably the bigger commodity anyways. As for an Anderson/GSP fight, the luster wore off the wagon long ago. Anderson aged and became mortal in the process and GSP was out of the public eye for a long time.

Now if the UFC/WME wanted to go full retard in the name of the almighty dollar, they ought to just book McGregor/GSP in a non title superfight at 170. If McGregor wins he becomes the undisputed biggest star in MMA history and if GSP wins, McGregor and the UFC can always claim that he was fighting a guy 3 weight classes above him as he's a former 145 titlist fighting the MW champ. That's the mega money fight.

lol @ everyone pretending they aint amped for this fight. Spoiled children.

UFC was doing this before they sold.

We know that GSP can't hurt Bisping with strikes and we know he won't be able to hold Bisping down (Bisping has gotten up from under much bigger, stronger wrestlers).

This will be a one sided beating from the champion.

They were, but now they're not even pretending to care. Khabib vs. Tony is for an interim belt despite the fact that Conor just won the LW title less than six months ago. I generally loathe the idea of interim belts but the one up for grabs this Saturday is the most transparent marketing prop yet.

GSP Bisping is just a slap in the face to the fighters and the actual fans. I know that it's the casuals and not the die hards who power the promotion but it's not a good idea to spurn your base.
