It'd be tempting to just laugh at Americans being Americans and write it off as the leadership they deserve... except, despite what Trump's campaign and supporters suggest, the US doesn't actually exist in it's own separate reality.
Funny, I am of the opinion that no matter who gets elected, it will be the rest of the world that won't get affected that much.

Likewise if Hillary wins?
Just wondering how invested people are in this thing, and how they will take it if the "wrong person" wins?
I feel your pain. There are many issues of course where most right-wingers are just as irrational too. Though I imagine you agree. And this is why the left is irrational and unable to be reasoned with.
*shrugs*
That was over fastTrump has done a masterful job of not being an idiot for two weeks now. I did not think that would happen, but he's listening to the people around him.
Dude taken down by security on Fox for wearing Bill Clinton rape shirt
Is newscaster on the far right Sonnen's chubby brother?
She's an honored and respected idiot.Famed anthropologist Jane Goodall says Donald Trump’s approach to political debates is similar to chimpanzees performing dominance rituals.
“In many ways the performances of Donald Trump remind me of male chimpanzees and their dominance rituals,” Goodall told The Atlantic.
“In order to impress rivals, males seeking to rise in the dominance hierarchy perform spectacular displays: stamping, slapping the ground, dragging branches, throwing rocks.”
Goodall compared the GOP presidential nominee specifically to a chimp she wrote about in “My Life With the Chimpanzees” named Mike.

If even one of the stupidities that has escaped Trumps yap about NATO and US treaties isn't just him being a bloviating wind-bag, it'd certainly have a major effect.
Even if he was just a complete dud, the lack of political leadership from the US would still have substantial effect.
On the other hand, Clinton is extremely aggressive in any situation potentially involving US intervention, has ambiguously flip-flopped on economic integration and hasn't shown any real leadership on environmental issues.
Pick your poison. At least Clinton is a known quantity.
