2016 GOP Convention Thread V2

After giving some thought over on the Cruz incident.

1) I am highly skeptical that the speech Trump / his people saw from Cruz was the same that was delivered by Cruz. I am calling major bullshit on that.

2) Cruz is banking on Trump flopping in the general election. Then try to play it that his speech was truly him trying to save the GOP from disaster and make it less viable for the independent types to win one of the two party nominations.

3) It's actually amazing in retrospect that he got booed for saying vote with your conscience and buttressed it with noble ideals. As Newt pointed out, if The Don did have the noble qualities that one should vote for, the audience would be thinking these things he are saying ARE an endorsement of Trump. But the fact is the audience knows nobody could be speaking about those noble qualities and have Trump in mind, because The Don does NOT have those noble qualities.

That's basically what Cruz said today. If voting for you conscience based on religious principles and constitutionalism doesn't mean voting for Trump, then so be it.

Nah. Booker would be a good choice, but he's kind of fallen off the radar.

I think Booker missed a chance this year though. In hindsight, he would have been a good candidate this cycle.

What Donald needs to do to win the night:

Show humility. Say he regrets comments he made about Cruz's wife and father and that it was in the heat of the primary race.

Contrary to what some believe, research has indicated that humility, in the right dose, is an important part of leadership.

Edit: With the theme being "Make America One Again" this makes even more sense.
