Shaun Livingston to the Warriors 3y 16m. Good get for them.

I've always fund it odd that the NBA seems to be the sport with the most strict and complicated cap structure, yet it seems like they overpay lesser players more than other major sports.

I don't even follow baseball but I know they overpay the most by far

NBA overpays more than NFL because NFL players have virtually zero rights compared to NBA players

because basketball teams have way less players than hockey or football teams?? not that hard to figure out. If you are getting playing time in the NBA then you will get paid, only about 8 or 9 guys actually get playing time on most teams so somebody will overpay for a guy who will eat min.

NBA overpays because of the current situation of the game also. Supreme lack of fundamentals at the highest levels, draft picks and contracts signed based often on potential and athleticism. Due to that, guys with certain skills lacking in the game, get paid also...

It's why Reggie Evans always has a job (rebounding, fouls), the Novaks of the league (shooting and literally nothing else), crawfords/swaggys of the league (guys that can create their own shot, a skill severely lacking in today's NBA).

Also, I'm too lazy to look it up, but the Contract Year magical increase in productivity seems to be blatantly prevalent in the NBA more so than other leagues. Especially with players on bad teams

yea, had to dumb down the answer for ya ;) you are welcome.

Or because you didn't actually answer his question

He asked why NBA players tend to get overpaid more, not why NBA players are paid more. So your point about hockey and football teams having more players is irrelevant.

Well there's a lot of crap teams every year. So it should be easy for you to find another 20 ppg scoring 3rd option.

I just named you Mike james

He's probably not much different than when aaron brooks scored nearly 20 for Houston that one year

Were either of these guys the third scoring option on their teams?

Mike James - 2006 Raptors - tied Bosh for team lead FGA
Aaron Brooks - 2010 Rockets - led team in FGA

overpaid isnt a fact, its an opinion. you can say anybody is overpaid. fact is the reason NBA "role" players are paid more is the reason i gave him.

perhaps i need to dumb it down for you too??

Regardless of it being a supposed opinion, it's what he was asking. You failed to grasp it, it's okay just move on.

I'm not sure what your fixation is on the third option

It's not like thomas shoots lights out

He was a 3rd option who put up an efficient 20 ppg. It won't be easy to find someone off the street to come in and replicate that. All I'm sayin.

Bucks are shopping OJ Mayo

I keep hearing everyone talking about how he got fat, I never saw for myself so I decided to google and lmao

It boggles my mind that a "professional" athlete who just signed a multi-million $ contract could do that

Go ahead and list for me all the 3rd option 20 ppg scorers you can think of

I'll wait

Recently?

-Kevin Martin on the Kings.
-Corey Maggette on the Clips.

All cans.

It's been done by chuckers.

Cartier Martin to the Pistons. Bit of a no-name but he's a solid 3pt shooter. Seems clear that with him and Meeks SVG is looking to develop a pretty quality inside-outside game. Makes me think they might let Gerg Monroe walk so that they can put Josh Smith at the 4 and further stretch the floor with Drummond inside.

Maybe he's a young guy But his 3pt shooting has regressed 3 years in a row

Would hardly call prime Kevin Martin a can

And I would call Maggette the Clips' 2nd option in '04 considering Richardson only played 65 games and Maggette was putting up over 8 fts/gm. In any case, prime Maggette wasn't a can either.
