I bet Croatia gets over confident against Mexico before they come close to beating Brazil.

FTFY. Cameroon is not what they used to be. Mexico, despite of stinking the joint at the qualifiers, will be the main threat for the Croatians.

It is really ridiculous to leave Nasri off of the squad. This is gearing up just at the right time, prepare for another french meltdown.

Not ridiculous at all. Nasri isn't some superstar. He's been average more often than not when playing for France. He's a cancer to team morale aswell

Portugal is as good as Cristiano's day. When he's on, they can challenge the world. But, he won't be 100%, they'll be under a lot of pressure after their first match with ze Germans, and if he's off, there's no one else who can pick up the slack.

United States have a shot to pull the upset, or at least a draw vs. Portugal. However, it relies a lot on the first match result. If they can't beat Ghana for the third time in a row, that'll weight heavily on the players' mind. Mental strength matters as much as physical.
Nani is good with the NT no? That said he has not played at all with United so who knows what shape he is in. Then they got Meireles, Miguel Veloso and Moutinho working their asses off in the midfield (atlest they did in the Euros). Coentr

Not sure about Mexico, they didnt select Carlos Vela and maybe some other players that should be there? But if Croatia or Brazil dont make out of groupstage, it would be Mexico knocking them out.

Nasri is a ****.

No need to have disruptive players in the team, no matter how good they are.

Surprised Evra is in the squad, as he's a bit of an idiot too

Miguel Veloso, just googled him to see which club he's at now. He's playing in Ukraine now. Remember when United were linked to him every summer like 6 years ago lol

Surprised he's in the squad aswell. Not only is he a prick but more importantly he's well past it. Digne, Clichy, Tremoulinas are better.

France still suffers with selecting players based on reputation than actual form. Atleast this time overall a talented squad was picked.

Those bastards turn it up to 11 on the big stage. As long as they aren't paired with Argentina, they can do a lot of damage. I wouldn't sleep on them just because they didn't call the Bern fan.

He plays for Dynamo Kyiv. President of that team is Ihor Surkis. His brother is the head of the Football Federation of Ukraine. Hah

Yeah i know they could go to last 16 no doubt but my money is on Croatia. They played well in Euro 2012 despite not making it out of the groupstage.

As a United fan I have to agree. Evra talks a good talk so the fans lap it up but his performances leave a lot to be desired.

His game in Munich sums him up. Scores a screamer, celebrates like a lunatic then is at fault when Bayern storm up the other end and score. He just switches off completely all to often. He's been in a steady decline for a few years now and it's a shame a player like Digne isn't given a shot.

Yeah, I remember he was part of the 'revolt' against Raymond Domenech during the shambles which happened in 2010.

The France team I'd go for (4-2-3-1) :

Lloris

Digne
Koscielny (Best defender in the world tbf)
Mangala
Sagna

Pogba
Cabaye / Matuidi

Griezmann
Benzema
Remy (Not a fan of Ribery lately)

I'm picking Argentina to win this though, they have the easiest run through to the semi finals.

Only change I'd make is Ribery for Remy even though he hasn't been the best since returning from injury. I think Remy is better down the middle.

I just remembered Cabella is on stand-by. Lacazette too. If it's a case of Remy playing out wide then I'd personally have either of them over him tbh. It's kind of unfair that Cabella and Lacazette haven't made the initial squad after the seasons they've had. Kind of shows the talent France has currently when them two are only on stand-by

Would be glorious if they got besmirched by Ecuador and/or Honduras.

And funny if Evra was, once again, leading the insurrection.
