True, it does make him more zippy and pacy ... but, this is the premiership! I always feel like you need a bit more muscle, someone like Bale, CR7 will always excel in the premiership. Skinny, flyweight players like Di Maria/Neymar have never really been that successful in the premiership ... way too injury prone and get bullied by the Stokes/Evertons/WBAs of the league.

I'd be surprised if DiMaria adapts quickly. Same for Alexis. I lost count of the amount of times Alexis looked baffled, as he was denied free kicks (or at least what would have been in La Liga) against Everton.

Players will take turns to kick the shit out of him. If he doesn't adapt at all, Man U will lose a shit load on him.

Yes someone like D. Silva or Mata would not make it in EPL, better stick to La Liga.

Just watch highlights from the MK Dons v Man Utd game, thoughts:

- Chicharito can't start a game. Ultimate super-sub, but gashtastic when he starts.
- No-one really wants to take responsibility, they all seem to be standing around waiting for someone else to do something.
- Anderson is woeful.
- LMFAO at the second goal, he scored with his f@cking chest!!!
- Welbeck looks dejected.
- Herrera looks way too skinny for the English leagues, he may well be good in the Spanish leagues where referees protect players more, but from what I have seen of him so far, he looks way too lightweight. I personally would rather a big, stocky AMF player like in a prime Michael Ballack kind of mould.
- Di Maria should improve the team, but he does look skinny!!, CR7 was skinny as f**k when he started and only really started dominating the premiership when he beefed up!!
- Johnny Evans was shocking, I always thought he was pretty decent, but my goodness, he was bad.
- is Kagawa injured? Man Utd have that injury bug hard!!

Burnley at the weekend has now become a MUST WIN game IMO. No pressure^^
Herrera wasn't even playing

Mata is pretty stocky IMO, David Silva is skinny and he DOES fade/get bullied in the wet Tuesday in Stoke games, but the players around him (Milner/Yaya/Dzeko) provide enough muscle to back him up! Gives him some freedom.

Alexis is skinny, but is also pretty ripped, physically strong. He just needs a bit of time and I believe that he can eventually adapt to the pace/physicality of the premiership.

Referees in Spain do protect the players A LOT more than they do in the premiership, though. They won't get that same protection in England.

Different sort of players to DiMaria though. DiMaria (from what I've seen) takes players on a lot more, leaving him open to more tackles. I remember Reyes having a good start in the Prem, until certain teams realised they could kick the shit out of him and he didn't like it. It completely changed his game and he stopped taking players on with runs.

TBF, it will probably come down to how much protection he's given and how he reacts when first kicked about.

Man I remember when Reyes first arrived.

Remember watching the fa cup game like 10 years ago, with John Motson shouting 'REYESSSSSSS' when he scored against Chelsea.

Not many people give him credit, but he single handedly won Real Madrid the league in 07 in the final game!

Yep, and they STILL didn't buy him off us. Bastards!

He really is one of those players where you wonder what might have been if things went slightly differently. He was never built for England though. There were always rumours that his house was basically made up like a villa in Spain. Heat on MAX.

Reyes was a gypsy (the Romano type) I believe. Yeah, good player but he clearly didn't like English weather!

I agree,

A bit like Januzaj, IMO, Januzai has a similar frame to CR7 and is still very young, so he can put on weight and bulk up. Di Maria is mid-twenties and built like a 14 year old .... He will have to deal with this kind of stuff:

Someone like prime Ballack/Yaya would never get pushed around so easily, lol

His goal against Middlesbrough when we won 5-3 was great moment too, REEEEYYYYEESSS!! ... a bit like the "and it's AGUEROOOOOO!!!" moment, classic^^!

This game, this particular commentator is gashtastic (the Tyler/Gray commentary is infinitely better!!!), but one of my all time favourite Arsenal performances:
