They're the absolute worst. I can drop some fucking paragraphs, write a damn novel of the stories I got.

I was so happy when the VA referred me to a civilian surgeon when I had to get surgery 3 years ago cause the VA surgery department was so backed up.

The VA surgeon was a morbidly obese woman with shaky hands, literally had to be 400+ lbs. She said she was going to have to take a massive chunk out of my belly button area and that I would have and I quote "a very gnarly scar".

The civilian surgeon used robot arms with a remote, came in from the sides, patched me up from underneath, you can't even tell I had surgery. He was one of them smooth dudes in his 50's that looks like he drives a dope Corvette or something <lmao>

I remember that. I was glad you got a civilian doc. These VA docs can be rude AF at best and incompetent at worst. Had to deal with a rude lady today.

My other doctor is cool. Hes a jacked 50 year old who cusses like a sailor. I have to pay a co pay and deductible so for serious things I go to the VA. But, yeah, he's hella cool. Our first time meeting:

Doc: So you are obviously on some supplements. I don't give a fuck. Lets get a full blood work up. Let see if we can optimize some stuff.

Me: Im all natty, doc. Not even vaxxed! 😈

Doc: Dont pee on my leg and tell me its raining!

<lmao> <lmao><lmao>

One is a 2nd year class and the other is a 3rd year class. Im on my 2nd semester lol. They are letting me switch out. Too bad, I was getting A's in those classes!

Trey Miguel bouncing back a little from WBD being stupid, and is back with TNA. Not a great bounce back, but still, television work is television work.

Sounds like they were afraid you were going to show up the longer tenured students.

You got over too fast, and pushed back down the card in fear. Tale as old as time.

Freiza was a genocidal maniac, but dude knew what was up when it came to luring folks into a false sense of security

Just tuned in to this episode of JRE with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck cause I like to hear the inner workings of how the movie business works and I'm 12 minutes in and it's already delivering on that. Matt Damon just talked about how producers want them to make movies where they gotta explain the plot 3 or 4 times out loud because people are on their phones <lmao> it's wild how attention spans in our society are so cooked even movie studios are like "these fucking people are fried, spoon feed them".

Gonna be a long night for Ol Rex so I might check this out. I haven't watched Rogan in years. Not a huge fan of the show anymore, I really enjoyed the beginning where he brought in fringe experts/interesting people in that covered more esoteric topics. But Ive gotten really interested in the arts since I stopped drinking and became more in touch with who I am. I especially like to listen to the nuance of creative and artistic minds. Art is interesting to me because it touches on two things Im into - the projection of one's soul to create the art and the psychology of getting people to understand/be entertained by your art. Im not artistically gifted in the traditional sense but I am pretty creative with my abstract thinking and how I perceive things(connecting patterns, understanding nuance, human nature etc) with a good intuition so this could be pretty neat to watch.

Matt Damon was recently on Conan's podcast and talked about Clint Eastwood kind of dressing him down for wanting to keep redoing takes to make the scene better. Clint didnt like that because he didnt want to waste time(particularly the crew's time) and money. Damon then goes on to talk about an experience with Spielberg where he said something similar, something to the effect of, "yeah I could spend another 3 hours maybe making this scene 10% better. Or I can go on and create another great scene. Im going to go make another great scene". I feel like that's the stuff me and you both want to listen to.

I usually only catch like 4-5 episodes a year now days and it's always actors or directors. It's a lot of fun to hear their passion about their art and how deep they can go on the subject. The stories about the behind the scenes on productions are always a lot of fun for me too. I caught Ethan Hawke's episode last month and it was just two and a half hours of Ethan Hawke breaking down the art of acting. One moment on the podcast that was really fascinating was Ethan and Joe were talking about how some actors make you believe they're a different person and how some actors you can tell it's just them saying lines and they started to talk about this scene Ethan had with Kevin Bacon in a movie and how it got so intense that Ethan truly believed he was his character and that Kevin Bacon was his character and that Kevin Bacon's character legit had a gun to his head and it was a real life or death situation. He said acting can have a real toll and trauma on people physically and mentally because of how real it can become to that actor.

Those types of episodes are always a great listen. Just Joe having a cool conversation with someone that is passionate about what they do. None of Joe's culture war shit he's been on the last few years.
