I created mine so I could post MMA shoops, but never really use it!

Warnock is a solid stop gap Manager for Palace. Can handle the media and settle the changing room.

I agree, having him as captain is a mistake. He is way too prone to being sulky. Thierry Henry was also not a very effective captain for Arsenal back in the day, when we are losing, most of the time, his hands are on his hips, he's sulking and doesn't lift the team.

Terry, Gerrard, Yaya are examples of good captains.

Much better to have someone lead from the middle or the back.

Damn was looking up how much it costs for you UK folks to have cable and all the sports channels.. It's like robbery

I completely agree, a defender has a better vantage point of the entire pitch than a striker (who is usually looking back towards his own goal, when his team doesn't have the ball), Defenders or CDM/Maklele position are usually always looking forward and can read the whole pitch better.

Damn v7 AND v6 are still on the first page of the sports bar and we're about to close this thread out too?

Do you want to do a AV or sig bet that he won't last the season?

I've never liked Centre Forwards wearing the armband at English Clubs. Lineker's the only one I remember doing it well but that was for the NT and the England captaincy has always had an air of Diplomacy about it, which suited Jugs.

Prem is a long grind, captaincy in it is much better suited to a senior defender or midfield General.

Interesting how other cultures think so little of the Captains role. They're much more stronger on self-discipline, as many English exports found out abroad. Waddle said it was a culture shock playing for Marseille where he had to play for your shirt every week and where seniority was harder earned.

Italians do the captaincy the best, typically, at least the national team. You got the most caps? Okay, wear this here armband, you're captain.

Nah, he's come out of retirement as a favour. He's only there to steady the ship and give the owner time to recruit his next Manager.

Warnock's a pillock.

Puncheon can't be too pleased:

Captaincy just gives you that extra bit of authority. Obviously it's suited to a CB first and foremost, as their whole job is about being organised and taking charge.

Holy shit v9 incoming. Good bunch of guys this season.

Is there any merit to the Cavani to Arsenal rumours or is it just wild speculation & idle filling of column inches ?

What a buy he'd be!
