As stated above, you can get away with being disciplined and organised over playing good football at smaller less fashionable Clubs, but maybe he is unable to hack it where good football is a pre-requisite.

Definitely think this was a key factor in Moyes' failure at United. Was always too meek to apply his Everton system and build from defence, always just following the basic notions of the Fergie era. But then I can't really blame him for having that attitude when the team is geared completely towards those notions, you can't change that in a season

Exactly.

He wasn't given enough time to adapt, imo. Whether or not he could've successfully adapted, we'll never know now. I'd have given him another full Transfer window.

Player power is a cancer. Next Manager needs to cut that tumour out from the off.
