I went to the 2008 BJJ Pan Ams over the weekend in Carson Ca.

It was pretty awesome. My wife took 3rd in her division. She was beat by the girl who got first in the same division last year. I think that chick should have been belted up for winning last year, but that's just my opinion.

Anyway, Jacare was running all over the place taking pictures with fans like a mad man. He was hella cool. Rickson was there too. My buddy said having Rickson at a BJJ tournament is like having Jesus walk into mass on Sunday. Rickson was not so picture friendly and even stared me down when I tried to get a shot from a distance.

The coolest thing about the trip was watching David Camarillo corner my wife. I mean this guy corners fighters in the UFC, and here he is at the Pan Ams cornering one of his students while wearing a John Fitch Toe 2 Toe shirt. He was there Friday and Saturday looking out for his students. I am not sure how all of them did since Guerilla JJ was represented by several schools, my wife being the only one from her school.

I spoke to several black belts who were all very nice.

Kron (sp?), Rickson's son, dominated as expected.

It was worth the expirience. I recommend it to anyone who has the ability to attend.

if you can, please post up some pictures. i wish i could've gone this year... i definitely will next year however.

This is my wife's first match. I can't link to her pics from myspace. the chick was a little big for my wife to sub, but she shot a lot of attempts. The chick didn't score once.
