Go to 12:00 for the most epic bench stroke ever.

Wow, her ROM was about 3 inches. I mean good for her, but god damn.

Jaroslaw Olech (Poland) just squatted 360kg in the 75kg weight class to break his own world record by 5kg.

From the looks of the approved list on the IPF website these are geared lifts right?

IPF rules:

Equipment
The IPF allows single ply polyester bench shirts and lifting suits. They don't allow denim, canvas, open back or velcro closure shirts. Briefs are not legal. Knee wraps up to 2 m may be used.

Is there a secret to knee wraps when squatting? Or is it wrap them correctly and you get an extra 40lbs on your squat?

Jan Wegiera's (82.5kg, Poland) *opening* bench press will tie the world record.

*shrug*

I can't get those motherfuckers to stop unraveling mid-squat.

There is a technique to it. If you wrap properly they will not undo themselves mid squat.

My technique:

1 - Pre stretch and roll them. You want to roll them as tight as you can before you apply them.

2 - Start below the knee and do one loop below the knee to get started.

3 - Pull hard in every direction as you wrap. Wrap inside to outside. Ie, as you come from the back of your knee to the front you are going from the inside of your leg to the outside of your leg.

4 - Every time you go around your leg you should have 1/2 of the wrap overlapping the previous wrap.

5 - Go all the way up over the knee and cover the top of the quad/teardrop.

6 - Once you have a single wrap over the tear drop, start going back down.

7 - Tie it off once you can't make another full loop. This is the hardest part. It's easier if you have some help.

8 - Once you have the tie started, pull the tie end through HARD.

During the wrapping process keep your leg straight and flex your quad. If you are pulling really hard on the wrap you should easily get 2 layers over the knee.

It hurts like a motherfucker. Don't be a pussy. Just deal with it.

So what do you figure my chance are of wheeling Zhanna Ivanova via the interweb?

Cause really, I want one. Mmmmm.

Thanks NK, I bought knee wraps a while ago for the hell of it and never tried them. I am going to try this next time I go for a squat PR, I'll probably do one without and one with and see how it works.

Looks like some guy from Argentina (Marcos Martinez) who nobody has ever heard of is going to win the 90kg class.

Here's a vid of him squatting 350kg, a lift he just duplicated at IPF Worlds:

That sucks, what did he have to hit in the bench to win?

Fast forward to 14:00, Jaroslaw Olech from Poland squats 793 at 165 pounds for a new world record.
