2008 IPF World Powerlifting Championships

Forgive my newbishness, but I don't know all that much about the various powerlifting organizations.

The IPF seems to be given more credibility than the other orgs. Can someone explain?

Because the IPF is the only true world-wide federation. It has affiliates in over 100 countries and they average 30+ countries in each yearly world champioinship. Many other federations hold "world championships," but they do not have the same amount of competition from around the world. Also, the standards of judging of most other federations have deteriorated over time to facilitate higher numbers.

In the beginning of the Women's Under 48Kg Squat part 2 video the first girl is wearing what appears to be, to my untrained eyes at least, a holster of some sort for the bar. Don't laugh too hard at me when I am totally wrong, but is that what it is?

She had the straps of her squat suit shortened. The straps were sewn so there were flaps at the top.

Chen Wei-Ling, who won a bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics in women's weightlifting is currently competing in the 52kg class.

This is just a little shot at everybody, myself included:

There are vids of girls weighing 105lbs squatting 375lbs+.

That's right, well over triple bodyweight.

So, GET TO THE FUCKING GYM!

She should take 140 or something as first attempt with bench then shie should be fine.

Fiona missed her first bench attempt. She is moving up to 150kg for her second attempt.

Where is the link to the live scoresheet? The link in the first post doesn't give me the current live sheet somehow.

She made the third bench press to stay in the competition. Looks like it's easy sailing for her now.
