News 12-6 Elbows / Grounded Opponent Strikes(Hands-Down) OFFICIALLY ALLOWED

I dont know who that is
I'm sure you've seen the highlight, or maybe even have read his name brandied about here in threads about dirtiest fighters before you hop in to pretend it's DC.

Well to be fair he was finished before any of that.

Now THIS is big news!!!!

Even though it's still stupid I understand the optics of banning grounded knees and soccer kicks , but the 12-6 elbows ban was always total woo woo bullshit, and I don't even understand the optics of it unless you still take karate showmen breaking bricks as a serious thing.

I really have no idea why people believe that and keep repeating it. I really don't think the commissions go for that
Respectfully I disagree, not because I think Commissions wouldn't resist (they will and have) and I agree rule changes shouldn't mean we go back and change the results of long past fights because if at the time it was illegal a rule change after the fact is irrelevant regardless of how stupid said broken rule was.

BUT I disagree because Dana White has been very open about turning this fight into a no contest in the past, and in the eyes of many Jones is by far the most decorated fighter the UFC has, so taking that L away is big for them . I think this will create a new opening and if Dana White and company really pressure commissions I think they'll over turn it to a no contest.

LOVE IT, it will be a rule change everywhere UFC goes it seems.
Activates November 1st.

Jones injury timeline looks more interesting now ...

Imagine jones with 12 to 6 elbows and knees allowed ...

Really? I remember him getting knocked down then kicked in the face. I must have forgotten what happened entirely.
Rewatching on a phone so it's hard to see what connects, but that last uppercut looks like it follows through pretty uninhibited, so I don't think it did more than graze. Looks like Tuli was on the ground from losing his balance while charging for that.. "takedown"
