$107,500 total Reebok payout for UFN73

Glover gets $5,000.00, Mayweather gets 300 million.

Thought boxing was supposed to be "swallowed" -in Rogaine's words- years ago?

I am all for the UFC making money but this is just downright a robbery. These guys deserve more, when there were submission and knockout bonuses that was extra incentive to work hard but this can't be motivating athletes to compete in a sport with no money. This is peanuts for higher level fighters like glover to get 5k. The prelim guys seem to be right however.

Lmao fucking Mayweather could sponsor the fighters for this kind of money.

UFC must be fucking rolling in it hahaha what a joke.

No, they have to send all the gear they got during the week back, or they get fined. and if you go onto UFC.com, you see that UFC is sells gear that was worn during a fight (i think i saw luke rockhold's shorts for $5000 lol cant remember but it was something ridiculous)

You are correct. Not a ton of event/fight used stuff but luke has more than any other. None of the new kit stuff yet but it seems safe to assume it's coming which makes this whole clusterfuck even more embarrassing.

Edit: Surprised there's not more offerings. I mean if you're gonna do it......Looks like with those prices they'll pay for a lot of the Reebok payouts (assuming they actually sell which I doubt many would at those prices). So they'll pay a fighter their $5k or whatever, get them to sign the kit and turn around and sell each piece for $5k or less. They might even make a profit. Sad.

This is pitiful. I really hope the fighters unionize.

so do I dislike videos on youtube?

haha that is one of my favorite bits of irony. They want to 'legitimize the sport' but there are giant beer, energy, etc drink advertisements placed on every slab of the cage. They probably still make Goldie say "Corn to the core" during the fucking fights.

I don't see how any of that stuff could sell at that price. Couture autographs go for about $50 give or take on ebay. The fact that it is a rare poster with Rodriguez? I still don't see how that comes anywhere near $5000. I mean a pair of game worn Jordans went for $5500. Are they really saying that Couture signed posters are worth a pair of game worn autographed Jordans? Give me a fucking break.

It seems likely that Schaub made more off sponsors per fight than this entire fight card did from Reebok to put things into perspective.

Guys like Tibau and Camozzi say otherwise. Then there are the Hardys and guys like that who will never be cut no matter how many losses they have. Glad to see they make more from the Rebox deal than guys like Glover. Shit, Fedor would be making $2.5k in Rebox money for his first fight unless they gift him an auto title shot. Eddie Alvarez also makes only $2.5k per fight in Rebox money.

What does getting a title shot have to do with how much reebok money he would get?

Title challenger makes $30k in Rebox money.

Fedor would still make $2.5k in his first UFC fight since he only has 4 SF fights.

interesting. didn't know the title holders and challengers got more.

Who would buy Rockhold shorts? They are all stretched out in the front.

5k for Glover? lol what a fucking joke, watch some dumb ass Sherdoggers try and defend this shit.

That doesn't include the free merchandise , undisclosed locker room bonus and other sponsors outside of the octagon you goof - Dana

do we really need these threads/articles for every event.

anyone can do the math before the event even goes down. we already know what the numbers will be.

Jesus, undercard fighters got as much as Glover did in payouts.. Ugh.

I wonder how Reebok is feeling about their investment right now?

Around here they have essentially aligned themselves with a corporate partner who are widely seen to rip off their employees (sorry - independent contractors), fucked up their product launch and resulted in athletes getting less pay.

So -- pretty bad.

However, I have in on good authority (Jesus) that Sherdog opinions don't necessarily matter that much in the wider world. I wonder if Reebok just views this as a few implementation issues on a minor endorsement deal or if they are already wondering WTF they got themselves into...
