Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos has been urged by 100 prominent Orthodox Jewish rabbis across the U.S. to cut ties between the company's AmazonSmile charitable initiative and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in a letter obtained exclusively by Fox News.

The letter charges that the SPLC “frequently vilifies groups based upon nothing more than their advocacy for biblically-based beliefs about sexuality and family ethics that were uncontroversial a generation or two ago.” It adds that the SPLC map omits groups “which ally with international terror organizations, openly glorify murder under the guise of ‘resistance,’ and frequently descend into clearly anti-Semitic expression.”

“According to the SPLC, Christians can only incite hate, and Muslims can only be its victims,” the letter states. “Yet more Jews have been murdered in the past 50 years due to radical Islamic terror organizations than all those groups that the SPLC does mention — combined. This level of dishonesty directly endangers the Jewish community.”

Conservatives and conservative groups that have been slandered by SPLC include the Family Research Council, the Alliance Defending Freedom, White House speechwriter Stephen Miller, One America News reporter Jack Posobiec, moderate Muslim Maajid Nawaz, and Islam critic Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

The center also slandered Dr. Ben Carson, a renowned neurosurgeon and now Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the Trump administration. SPLC in 2015 added him to a “extremist file,” for, among other things, his Christian believes, including that marriage is between a man and a woman.

Don’t really like the phrasing of this part to include those two under that umbrella. The ignoring and eventually rejection of Ali by the left in the West has been profoundly disappointing to watch over the last decade or so, which leads to her mostly only being supported by one politically aligned wing, but that hardly makes her or her ideas aligned entirely or even mostly with that wing.

No, Ali said Islam as a whole and most Muslims are extremists and that they need to be defeated and crushed. She even thought Daniel Pipes, who is himself a hardline anti-Islam critic, wasn't critical enough when he said "Radical Islam is the problem but moderate Islam is the solution"

To be fair, as I said earlier, she has moderated her views over time and has now said she believes that Islam can be reformed, whatever that means, but the idea that she's anti-Muslim did not come out of nowhere.

From what I understand she is relatively conservative by European standards and is a moderate or center right by American standards
