100 Burpees or 1 mile run. Whats harder?

One man runs a mile, the other does 100 burpees.

Loser buys lunch.

100 burpees in 5 1/2 min?

With jump and push up?
 
Burpees. At a slow pace i can do a 1 mile run. At a slow pace 100 burpees would take me a ridiculous amount of time. Add speed into the equation and burpees would actually kill me.

They're a full body exercise so the heart has to supply both upper and lower body with a lot of blood, compared to mainly legs when running. Basic physiology says burpees would win hands down
 
I can run a 6 minute mile with relative ease. I would personally equate it to 40 burpees for time.
 
I am a former runner. This 1mile/100 burpee mystery has remained elusive to mankind long enough. Time to settle it once and for all...

I will attempt 100 burpees over the weekend at some point and report definitive findings...
 
If times are equal then the burpees are harder for me. I can run a sub 6 mile (I don't enjoy it) but I don't think I can do a sub 6 on 100 burpees at the moment.
 
It takes me almost twice as long to do 100 burpees than it does to run a mile. So, burpees for me.
 
I could go sub 5 min mile in high school with an 11 min two mile, but the thought of 100 burpees makes me shudder.
 
long distance running is much more brutal on your body than burpees in general, but you'll definitely be feeling a fast 1-mile less than 100 burpees

That is badass except for the damn music
 
I think burpees are harder then running. Then again they are not using the same energy systems either.
