Yes he is very reckless and isn't very meticulous. The straight punches worked and then he stopped doing them because his fight IQ is low. Other fighters like Poirier feel the same. Stop being a outrage whore like Im saying things nobody else sees. This is all very obvious.
Outraged?? LOL, I am far from that and talking to you calmly just pointing out the flaws in your argument. Saying other people say the same thing doesn't really prove much. Most of the criticism around Chandler has been that he doesn't try to mix it up and use his wrestling, when in fact in both the Gaethje and Poirier fights he did quite well or attempted to. Can't trust what others say.
It's far from obvious. The fact you're using the Poirier fight as an example of him having bad fight IQ with some weak argument about him throwing straight punches shows you don't have much else to say. If anything, the Poirier fight is a very good example of him having the right strategy and good fight IQ. He came in with a grappling game plan and that worked quite well for him. He got two very good reactionary TD's in both the first two rounds and had top control out grappling Poirier. In round 2, his got a very nice TD while Poirier was covering him, that's good fight IQ, and he was on top for the entire round. And round 3 he went back to his grappling looking to take Poiriers back. Poirier just reversed and took his back.
He has a fighting style that is aggressive, but you can have fighters that fight like that and still display good fight IQ.
