Used to make me wonder whether I was watching somethin´really unique and special in terms of skill set, potential and velocity.

Obviously, the Chuck Loss was a luge letdown... But he was then only 23...

He could have refined his striking game and perhaps learned to use his range a lil better...

Then, he slowly became a HW, obviously lost some of his velocity and impressed me less.

Was it the right decision?

He fucking killed himself to make LHW. I don't think moving up to HW was really a choice.

Yeah, I think he made the right call.

He was a big LHW and the weight cut harmed him badly. Plus, he had some great wins at HW.

He was always had the chin of a fairweather LHW.

Struve actually was the only one who really had to go to HW .

I think the fact that he will be more remembered for his success at HW(outside of K-1) in MMA should give you your answer.

No way he could have stayed at LHW. He absolutely made the right choice.

Hmmm... Depends...

He made his HW debut in Feb 2006... 3 months b4... the PRIDE 2006 Heavyweight Grand Prix Opening Round... where he fought Sergei.

His LHW career was not that great...2 wins over belfort and 1 over igor.....2 loses to little nog...2 to shogun...1 to chuck...1 to arona....the only time he lost 3 fights in a row was at LHW

yeah, but he was damn young, and Im here talkin about his potential at LHW

He was a LHW punching bag, no offense.

He became a multi sport champion, multi organization champion And was a top 3 UFC as a HW.

Pb is, chronologically:

He lost to Shogun [ATG] for the PRIDE 2005 Middleweight Grand Prix Semifinal.

Then, he made his HW debut in Feb 2006... 3 months b4... the PRIDE 2006 Heavyweight Grand Prix Opening Round... where he fought Sergei.

Then, by mid 2006, he returned to LHW, facin´ 3 potential ATGs.

Then, he returned to HW in 2007.

Not sure his team was quite aware of the consequences of such moves...

yeah, but he was real young then, and was not really fighting 'long' as a LHW, with the physical tools he had.
