Economy GOP back to Inflation worries. "Hyperinflation" (Update: 2022 Inflation Highest in 40 Years)

This what happens from printing money.
The dollar isn't worth less, the things dollars buy are worth more. (And more specifically costing more to move)

It doesn't have anything to do with how much we are or aren't printing.

Blame Trump & Biden, blame all of Congress, and the ripple affects of covid precautions (see the pile up of ships outside of Los Angeles).

Also, regarding gas, its not Bush, Obama, Biden, or Trump, its OPEC. Shesh.

It's almost as if they don't know anything about economics.

<WellThere>

Several people have mentioned the absolutely fucked situation in supply chain logistics. Which is probably a much larger part of the issue than the average person realizes.

I can tell you as someone in that industry, our bosses don't want to pay us what they do and have us work so much overtime, but we're basically permanently behind so there's no choice.

I can't remember the last time I could even find ammo to buy

Fucksake, I noticed components are somewhat available, so thought about loading up some 9mm instead of getting rooked on loaded ammo.

Having never loaded 9mm I had to tool up first.

$350 for dies, toolheads and other shit for my Dillon progressive. $350 before I even start looking for components which are cheaper, but all the small primers are gone.

So I bought 1500 45ACP bullets since I have everything else ready to go.

Feels like punishment.

I mean it's fine , have a little less money for leisure but it's not a HUGE deal. More annoying then anything. Pay a stupid amount of taxes on my paycheck (God forbid I did a trade and make good money -.-) , get taxed on literally everything and am now feeling the pain at the grocery store. God forbid anybody wants to eat healthy nowadays you better make over 200,000 a year.

I've noticed but it really hasn't affected me too much yet. Stopped driving my 8cylinder Jeep and started driving the 4 cylinder Subaru I guess.I've really noticed at work where we can't get anything with steel, copper or a long production process.
I do a ton of refrigeration piping and copper pipe is getting scarce. Used to be able to put an order in and have it that day or at worst end of next. Now I'm being told to stock up as it's week + out. May not seem like a big deal to some , but sites have deadlines and it becomes a frustrating battle.

This lol people are so funny blaming one or the other for things theyre both responsible for. Oh you hate lockdowns , masking and the vax ? While guess who ushered that all in? You hate printing money? Guess who started that fun little ride . It's almost if , they both serve the same group of people

Food has gone up, specifically going out to eat. Has not affected be but I got a meatball sub from the pizza place yesterday. One sub = $11.00!!! Was like $8 last year.

I can be frugal so it does suck being a cheap ass, but I am also very financially secure so in the grand scheme of things it doesn't affect me financially. In fact I have new goals of retiring early (early as in retiring in 10ish years instead of 20ish years from now). We will see.

Same here. Another thing we can't seem to buy right now is air filters. We have been waiting on filters for our big AHUs for months.

remove all skin & we bueno.

oh, & sticky rice makes everything better. don't know what it's called. we always called it "grandma's rice", as per my mama mia since we were kids.

Nope, make enough that inflation of costs doesn't impact me. However, noticing delays in shipping and availability of building materials and appliances. Been waiting for a new washing machine to show up for a month

hyup.

just shipping in general has been dogshit.

I've been waiting on hardware since June, I keep getting delay notifications.

Yup my wife and I went to a sandwich place and it was like 32 bucks for two of us. And then the debit machine has the audacity to ask for a tip.

Fuck that. Maybe these high prices will cause people to stop tipping finally.

Those iPad tip things are annoying.
15%- Good!
20%- Outstanding
25%- Wow!

I run into these even just getting a cup of coffee. Used to just pay the exact price and walk away, now we’re tipping the person at the cash register?

I just went to the grocery. Spent $30 for a banana, bacon, dish soap and breakfast cereal. This is insane. The feds say the pandemic is no longer to blame and the prices are going to keep going up for the next year or two at least. That dumb fuck Biden and his supporters are to blame for this shit printing money 24/7. I put in a quite a bit of money into 401k every month and I don't want to change how much I'm putting in.

Biden is to blame when he hasn’t spent any money? Shit they are still trying to pay bills from the last administration. Your anger is focused in the wrong place.

Yea, prices are no joke, shits crazy out here..Building materials are off the charts with price increases…Just picked up a few things at the Italian market…Mamma Mia…

Yeah it's fucking stupid. You used to tip the waitress but she would come to your table, take your order, bring your food, check on you, refill your drinks, bring you the check, etc. She basically took care of you for an hour.

Now this dumb fuck standing behind a register that has to have pictures of the food on it because he's too stupid to type the right codes in, is asking me for a tip? He didn't do anything! I place my order at the counter, I pick up my own food, I refill my own drinks.

And the tip isn't really for him anyway. You're really tipping the restaurant owner, because that's how much less he had to pay his employee now.

It's been tough. I no longer order A5 Miyazaki Mon-Thursday and have downgraded significantly to Hokkaido. The marbleization is lacking in depth comparatively with a less delicate umami front as Miyazaki but times are tough god damn it!
