Why hasn't any boxer like Samuel Peter become a world star like Ngannou?

20-1 type level records. 15-0 KO/TKO type records. If Ngannou is born to be a star why not Samuel Peter or similar?

A star???

Ask 100 people who he is. Get 98 {<huh}<FookIsThatGuy>

Lol Ngannou loses his next fight, he fades into obscurity (no pun intended)

In Boxing you go 15-0 before you’ve been Pro for 2 years. Any pro with potential, out of the Olympics for example, signs with a promoter and spends two years fighting part time bin men.

Deontay Wilder has 39 wins and has fought 3 guys who were inside the top 20 ranks. Says it all.

WORLD star? Nah. Seriously, everyone knows who Ali is. Everyone knows who most of the big name boxers are even if you’ve never seen a boxing match. Everyone knows who Tiger Woods is. If you don’t go on an mma forum or watch mma media, these guys are relative nobodies. So when people claim someone is star it’s not really accurate.

Naganou is a "world star"??

Reminder: Lomachenko would embarrass MM with 1 year of training. There are levels

It's a confluence of factors -

1) Francis has skills that extend beyond just being a power puncher (although that is his bread and butter) and he more often than not finishes fights in a highlight reel fashion
2) While boxing's biggest stars attract alot of attention, the heavy weight division (outside of perhaps Joshua) is comparatively much less popular than the UFC. Francis is a big fish in a small pond in an organization that is realistically the only game in town. Francis gets better exposure than virtually any other heavy weight boxer
3) A 20-0 record in boxing isn't necessarily impressive - in fact, it is almost a requirement before a fighter can garner a title shot. I don't think the public readily recognizes guys like Peter as being among the best in the sport. Heck, I'm a fan of boxing, and I couldn't tell you who currently holds the various pieces of the heavy weight belt (Joshua, Wilder and ????). With the UFC, there is a much clearer path to becoming the best in your division.... unless your Connor.

Finally, there is an intangible element to Francis that makes his backstory compelling. Homeless journeyman to world class wrecking machine in under 5 years is a story that captivates people.
