I don't know
In all honesty I'm in San Diego so all my friends are military. I work for a defense contractor.
None of them saw a second of combat and we are all now in our 30s and coworkers are all out now. Only one that did got deplyed early during iraq war but due to his wife divorcing him (don't worry he was an abusive cheating scumbag ) the military kept him away from combat and took his guns away becsuse he was deemed suicisdal. It seems like a pretty cushy, safe, guaranteed job with the best benefits, generous pensions , and immune to the economy. I often wish I had served even if just 4 years.
The chances of being in an actual war now especially against an equal enemy is almost zero.
