What takes more balls, fighting in mma or military infantry?

I don't know

In all honesty I'm in San Diego so all my friends are military. I work for a defense contractor.

None of them saw a second of combat and we are all now in our 30s and coworkers are all out now. Only one that did got deplyed early during iraq war but due to his wife divorcing him (don't worry he was an abusive cheating scumbag ) the military kept him away from combat and took his guns away becsuse he was deemed suicisdal. It seems like a pretty cushy, safe, guaranteed job with the best benefits, generous pensions , and immune to the economy. I often wish I had served even if just 4 years.

The chances of being in an actual war now especially against an equal enemy is almost zero.

Possible death from your own mistakes and your teammates' mistakes is probably scarier than fighting where refs will save you.

you could prove yourself the most ballsy by posting a photo and facing the Sherdog firing squad

Well, in TS defence, this dumb ass thread took a lot of guts to be made.

are you nuts?

In war....you die and you kill. It's not a sport, there is no ref. Screw it, you are a complete moron.

Wrong.

The sport is war, total war
When victory's a massacre
The final swing is not a drill
It's how many people I can kill

Lol @ all of the clowns losing their sh*t in this thread.

Majority of infantry is composed of young kids who played COD throughout their childhoods and decided it would be 'cool' to do that in real life. Now, they're locked into a luxurious 8 year contract in Iraq.

Neither professions (MMA nor infantry) are pursued to test how 'ballsy' one is - it's just career choice you make. Just like with any other profession, being an MMA fighter or an infantry soldier may be pursed because of interest, because of social pressure, because heritage, because of money, etc.

Being "ballsy" is one's own perspective - it means something different to everyone else. The people in the army know what they signed up for - unless they were stupid and young and heavily influenced by video games. They know that they could lose their lives at any moment. Losing your life at any moment means something different for someone who lives in a peaceful city and has access to wifi, air conditioning, food, water, and porn (I'm talking about you Sherbros ;)).

I respect the soldiers and infantry men. I respect MMA fighters. But being "ballsy" is really objective and it requires perspective from all angles to examine. Both of these professions are "ballsy" to the average person. Now if TS asked which is more "dangerous", MMA or infantry? Then of course, without a doubt it's infantry. Ballsy =/= more dangerous.

It's objective and debatable from different perspectives.

You know what else is "ballsy"? This.

My cousin died in Afghanistan.

But I threw you a "like" anyway because you earned it, imo. Making this thread took more balls than either one of those other ones.

Also, mma is way more frightening.

<{JustBleed}>

Being a soldiers is obviously more dangerous, especially if you are serving a country which gets involved in a lot of armed conflicts.

A lot of people join the military without full understanding of the consequences. Not sure that's an issue of guts.

Let's see - facing death, losing limbs, and maybe being captured and tortured..........or fighting in front of thousands of people with doctors, ambulances, and referees there to make sure you are safe (while in many cases making tons of money and getting lots of vagina)

Tough choice....

Remember what Colton Smith said. This is easy (mma)

Easy when hes a mediocre mma fighter who just goes out there and wrestles bums. Hes never been in there with killers or been through any mma wars. Also I checked into that guy because I heard someone say he was a ranger and he was never a ranger. He earned ranger tab but was never in the 75th.

mma is the easy way out. mma is for people that cant even hold down a real job like jon jones, mike perry, bj penn etc

If you sign up for the military during war time, then for sure the military. Otherwise, a lot of men and women are just assuming they won't actually have to fight.

you are a spoiled child who's never seen war. It's not even a topic, go take a nap.

Spoiled children also DIE and get maimed in war. In MMA, they just watch two guys fight.

I don't have to google anything. If you want to say "Wrong" and follow with some quote that aren't even your own words, plus not cite the original author, it's not my problem.

War is hell.
MMA is fun.

Be clear or stfu.

It was a stupid thread.

Only stupid people respond with serious responses.

I wasn't making a statement or making a point, I was shitting in a worthless thread.

No need to clarify. If you need clarity on a troll thread, get a life.
