Anderson Silva/Rich Franklin II and Khabib/Trujillo are two other examples. Khabib had him in a triangle, but of course the bell rung.
Michael Bisping literally got KTFO by Anderson Silva at the bell. If that's not getting saved by the bell I don't know what else is.
Cormier vs Oezdemir, Piechota in his ufc debut had submission tight at the ond of the round and in another round knockdown at the end
Anderson or Wanderlei? The bell saved him from both SilvasRecent one that comes to mind is Silva vs. Bisping.
There was absolutely no way of Bisping surviving more than a couple of seconds there, while shields could've somehow toughed it through... in theory at least.
Granted all the bell(and Herb, and his corner) did was give Cerrone a chance to continue taking an ass whooping in the next round until the finish.
Sean O'Malley vs Soukhamthath. He literally couldn't even stand at the end of round 3. Not really the "biggest" ever though.
The opposite would be Sonnen vs Jones, where Jones would have lost by doctor stoppage if the fight had reached the bell.
Shields beat maia on the ground he ain't tapping to Goofball Mayhem.
