Great, declare victory in Syria over ISIS and the bring the troops home and have a parade.
I get the point but let's not compare victory in World War II with victory in a conflict with a single, minor belligerent. I don't think it's fair to take away not only the sacrifice in life that soldiers made, but the sacrifice all civilians made as well.
To paraphrase the words of contemporary soldiers, "America isn't at war. The troops are at war. America is at the mall." The conflicts aren't even remotely similar.
