There are people in the scientific, sporting and medical community that somehow insist that because a man who has transitioned to a female has comparable hormone levels to a female, then they are fairly competing as a female. They totally ignore muscle percentage, muscle memory, limb length and ratio, overall strength that they never would have had if born female etc etc.

It’s laughably pathetic that this has been accepted.

Don’t have such a problem with female to male competitors at this stage as it doesn’t appear unfair as such but that’s the test I would place.

Actually females who take testosterone to create testosterone levels similar to the average male are not able to produce eggs. It acts similarly to birth control in that sense.

They could stop taking the testosterone and after some time their estrogen levels will get back to normal and the ability to produce viable eggs could return. Depends on age aswell and how long they used testosterone and if it was abused.

According to the celebrity I was arguing with, if Hannah claims she is a woman then she is woman. We have to accept that.

While I would call her a woman out of respect in real life, this cognitive dissonance of rejecting biological reality is insane to me. You're tell me that is the same as other women and is fair?

Before I begin my rant - I support equal rights and opportunity for trans people. To me, rights are humans rights period. I don't think you should be discriminated based on race, gender, sex or any immutable characteristic.

That said - sports are not rights. In this case, it's a former female that has transitioned to a male that is boxing men. I can respect that. There's no advantage and if anything, there is a disadvantage. That's commendable.

Would it be fair if the reverse happened though? A male, transitioning to female and then fighting other female boxers?

I got into a spat with a celebrity who will not be named about it and they said that if a trans-man transitioned to a woman then she's now a woman. End of story. Seriously? We are just going to completely ignore biology and science? How come science works when it's for climate change and everything else but it's a social construct if we are talking about sex?

Does this mean I can have sex with the trans female and she can get pregnant? Of course not. Just because you say you are a woman doesn't make you biologically a woman. We have to stop conflating sex with gender. I support being whatever you want to be but there IS a difference biologically.

We've seen cases of men transitioning to female and then competing into weight lifting and easily beating the competition. Is this fair? I think there's an interesting debate to be had.

My sister is a Ralph Gracie black belt, teaches at his accadamy and competed on a world wide level, won the pan am games, and competed heavily, until she started undergoing hormone therapy, at that point she was denied eligibility.

So they had it right years ago, but lost their way recently
