Steve Scalise (house maj. whip) others shot at baseball practice Virginia

Also, I hope nobody attempts the "Our guns are for stopping tyranny" bit. It's hilarious to me.
why is that? because you cant understand why this is true?

just look at the insurgents in nations in the middle east. guerilla warfare works when its not total war.

leftists on the last 2 pages absolutely DESPERATE to change the topic to 'republicans are eviilll and wacist"
you think the guy who was shot and other Republicans are the ones who need to reconsider things? give me a break socialist scum hjahaha

Fucking amazing isn't it? Dipshits like @Phisher and @bad seed trying to act like Scalise is the bad guy in this whole thing instead of being the victim. The left truly are a bunch of scumbags. Not to mention a bunch of pussies. I've never in my life met a tough liberal. Though when they're behind a computer they're all of a sudden badasses.

no, I am hoping for him to see the errors of his ways because he was saved by a black lesbian. Someone who represents two groups that he legislates against.

And funny how you question others being badasses behind the security of a keyboard while feigning a tough guy act.

And? So if the law does not stop people from getting weapons 100 percent of the time, fuck it? What about Australia? They dont have terrorist gun attacks all the time. The people of Australia seem pretty happy about their state of affairs. They had their own Sandy Hook in 1996, and did what they thought was best, restricting ownership of guns greatly, and they dont have mass shootings all the time.

Lol at comparing a country like Australia to the US. The US has 330 million people and Australia has 23 million. Shit comparison.

Our government has an array of attack helicopters, jets, tanks, drones, ICBM systems, nerve agents, MRAPS, crowd dispersal systems, etc etc etc. Good luck thinking access to an unregulated SKS is gonna help you fight back......

so they are going to bomb entire cities?

do soldiers die in afghanistan/iraq? of course. it would be worse here because they cant even dehumanize the possible enemies.

Yeah, because conservatives never talk about the backgrounds of victims of violent crimes.

GTFO with that shit.

I don't agree with Scalise getting shot, but he's a fucking reprehensible, open bigot who got into politics to make the lives of people that he doesn't like worse. It is what it is.

Maybe if he'd done a better job of keeping his bullshit coded like his colleagues, he wouldn't have been targeted by a nutjob.

The idea of fighting tyranny isn't the idea of doing the Red Dawn just straight up engagement with gov't entities...

The idea as I understand it from a lot of people is grab the gun, a ton of ammo, and have it with you to keep yourself safe from the roving gangs of fuckheads trying to steal shit from you/kill you.

My SHTF guns aren't to shoot at soldiers.. it's to shoot at the fucking crazy roving gangs of people meaning to do me harm while I make my way to the woods to ride out the storm.

Reports were that Scalise was friends with that black lesbian.

So our founding fathers were preparing for Mad Max, that's your argument?

The fighting tyranny with small arms argument makes no sense in light of the weapon systems the government has. It would not be hard to dehumanize each other if things in the US got real bad. Things were pretty good, relatively, in 2016, and we dehumanized each other over a fucking democratic election. Our bonds are tenuous.

I also fail to see how the US government, or our military, dehumanized people in Afghanistan. When my brother went their in 2003, they were shitting in holes close to their drinking water, beheading each other in the streets of Kabul, and brutally killing minorities. They dehumanized themselves. I fail to see how allowing the people of a country some breathing room to conduct a democratic election is dehumanization.

My argument has nothing to do with what the Founders intended.

Do you think the first amendment only applies to quill and parchment with delivery via horse, bird, or ship?

In it's original context, yes, the constitution did only apply to things that actually existed at the time. I dont see how that is an argument either way.

You're talking about roving, armed gangs raping and pillaging. That has not been a reality in America, anywhere, for a good deal over 100 years. Even then, in places like NYC and Chicago, the gangs were not, for the most part, using guns in their battles.

Im not talking shit about the military when i say dehumanize the enemy. this is a necessary part of war.

and seriously did you forgot entirely about vietnam? not to mention the fact that there is no way the entire military would stand with a truly tyranical government.

What do foreign wars like Afghanistan and Vietnam have to do with the fantasy of an armed uprising against tyranny in the nuclear age?

Here's my thing. When you have video of those Antifa fuckfaces loading up glass mason jars with Cherry bombs, lighting them and rolling them into a crowd of people and one of the biggest domestic terror attacks in the US ever been committed by a dude with a pickup truck full of fertilizer and kerosene while armed with only a damn book... I'd like to have my guns if we ever end up in a point where the gov't collapses and we're left to fend for ourselves for a time.

The fight against tyranny argument is not talking about the complete collapse of society, it is talking about our government turning on us, and being tyrannical. Our gun rights work within the framework of our civil society. Arguing you'd need your guns if the framework went away is evading the argument, as it has nothing to do with it.
