If the Mayweather fight is official he should be stripped immediately.

Because then there is no way he returns in 2017 if he does at all. And then it would be more than a year without a defense because he had other plans.

He can do what he wants but the LW division should not be forced to wait for him.

because in no uncertain terms, he should NOT be stripped today due to boxing match rumors. few (and no serious) fans ever claimed a fighter should be stripped after not defending their belt in 4 months. a year, sure, but not 4 months.

Conor has been very active since joining the UFC. I didn't have a problem with him taking 6 months off between fights considering it's not much longer than some active champs go between fights. However if May rolls around and Conor is not willing to fight and has no immediate plans to defend his belt then he should be stripped.

He is not hurt and should be able to book a fight and defend his title after 6 months.
