I'm French and here are some explanation :

Most of the french population usually work for 1200€ (1500$)/month, have to pay a rent 600-800€ (1000$)/month, have to pay 200-300€ (400$) for oil for their cars, and the rest for food, kids needs etc.. and the goverment keep adding taxes for BS on the majority, and nothing on the wealthy folks.

Basically, that's the problem.

That cost of living (rent and fuel) is crazy. No wonder the French are so foul-tempered (no offense).

The thing is, if the police ends up killing a demonstrator, it will get much, much, worst. Especially if the victim is a member of a minority. The boxer is a Gypsy, shooting him would spiral things into a whole world of retribution that would reignite the whole movement.

Macron worst fear is not seeing the gates of Ministry getting rammed-down, but to hear that a Black or Arab ghetto kid got killed by the anti-riot forces. For now, immigrant ghettos have been very quiet, if they joined (which would only happen after serious police brutality on one of their own), then shit would really hit the fan.

Do american police shoot with guns on protesters who don't have lethal weapons? It would mean the end of the governement in France.

But the riot police has been very violent in France inflicting a lot of damages to protesters with "non lethal weapons", people losing hands, eyes, and other big injury in the head.

A man is seen litterally jumping on a bridge in Paris to start to box a riot policeman wearing full gear , with helmet, a shield and a baton


Another video later , he is on the left, in the fight between police riot and protesters.

But overall there is no comparing, especially when you bring in South America, African Nations, the Philippines, etc.

Well shouldn't it be in the end? The halls of the goverment being taken over by protesters? You probably don't know the history of rioting in the immigrant suburbs of France, Paris especially. It would obviously be another huge headache and add another dimenson to the current riots that an already stretched french police force would have a hard time to contain.
