I've only seen a handful of anime over the past decade but the stuff I remember from the past was mostly badass dudes with big muscles and overly sexualized female characters in need of saving. I never understood why there's so many pencil necked weeaboos when the cartoons are the opposite. Maybe there is some gay shit that's been happening in anime recently that I'm unaware of that caused this phenomenon.

Curious on the WR's thoughts on this. I have no issue with same sex couples raising kids. I've worked in group homes, those environments are future criminals factories, so I'm happy when any kid can have a loving home. I'm sure these parents love their kids, but this time stamp from the docu made me feel really badly for them. It takes a damaged person to try and force kids away from their natural gender. This is a bad as Christians trying to cure biologically gay teens. Leave it to the Swedish gov't to embrace it largely.

I never watched anime but I grew up watching He-Man and GI Joe as well as movies like Conan the Barbarian. Made me want to workout. Not sure why frail anime nerds don't lift if it is full of dudes with muscles.

But we are not gender neutral. Gender roles and gender norms are something you see throughout the whole animal kingdom, it's a biological reality and we are no different. We are organic living creatures, not robots.

Plus these people claim to champion diversity yet won't even acknowledge the differences between males and females, yet alone celebrate them. Classic double think.

Perhaps it is best to agree to disagree then. Gender is real, as is race, but having roles for gender makes as much as sense to me as having roles for race does. Or having roles for tall people versus short people. Different groups will thrive in different roles, but making them do these roles before they make the decision to want to do them reeks of authoritarianism/ communism to me.

I think gender roles exist and they exist naturally.
What people are complaining about is that some kids are no longer being given the chance to develop naturally, they're having their natural inclination inhibited so that they can fit in with the "gender is fluid" narrative.

Gender roles are not a social construct, their absence is.

The most disturbing thing I've seen is the behavior of kids (or even just their presence) at some of the recent marches. Sometimes it appears to border or child abuse based on the pictures. Little kids should not be exposed to that level of debauchery.

Sex is basic biology (for the most part, sometimes there are anomalies), but gender has always been a term that sometimes encompasses social and cultural factors. The terms have been used interchangeably for the most part, but not necessarily correctly.

It isn't really the existence of such a thing (someone raising a child without a gender) that is troublesome I find, it is the promotion of it. Like, a sustained campaign to make it normal and encouraged for society.

It goes along with the rest of the gender bending promotion within the LGBT sphere and much of it is aimed at children. The transgender hype, the opening up of womens bathrooms for men, the allowing men to play sports with women, the general attack on gender roles, and all the rest.

It's an ideological pill that is being pushed down the throats of society.

I agree. I don't care what choices people make in life as adults, but don't push your choices on your kids. Kids need to be raised as the gender they were born. A little girl doesn't need to be asked if she wants to be called a boy or a girl on a given day. They shouldn't be told they can be whatever gender they want, this is confusing the kid. Let them be kids and when they are grown they can make any decision they want.
