Q for the veteran fans, has there been a bigger fight than Conor vs Khabib?

It's not even top 10 for hype or buildup, sadly. I think Conor doesn't want to provoke the Muslim or Russian crowds the way he provoked Brazilians and Americans. He hasn't created any hype for this fight and Khabib creates zero excitement outside the ring.

there have been lots of big fights throughout the years. it all depends what you consider big.. i guess its perception - to some people this is the biggest fight of all time - to others Brock vs Mir 2 / to others GSP vs whoever during his long reign

You need to get your history of MMA straightened out. Sylvia at the time he fought Fedor was in no way the laughing stock of MMA. Sylvia was considered a real threat to beat Fedor due to his height and massive reach advantage. You also should remember Sylvia beat Arlovski 2 times 1 by KO the other by decision before fighting Fedor. Sylvia ended up becoming a laughing stock when he fought Ray Mercer and was KO'd in 9 seconds. The Mercer fight was after Sylvia lost to Fedor.

Biggest fight of all time Conor v nate 2. Followed by cro cop v fedor, and that was at a time when it wasn’t too easy to watch pride . My pops had to rent the DVD from the video max . You know a fight is big when u wait 2 weeks to see a fight that’s been decided , but you still feel anxious . It may sound dumb but idk it just felt like something could still happen on that dvd. And damn Rashad been in a lot of big fights

Not to mention the world tour, the cancelled first fight with Mendes as a late replacement...

It was a lot of drama and hype before that fight

People who say Chuck vs. Wandy, Machida vs. Shogun II, Silva vs. whoever, etc were even remotely close to as big as this fight are out of their mind.

Chuck vs. Wand happened a little too late. The other fights had zero "as big" fight feel in comparison, especially with casuals.

I have been watching UFC for a long time. The last series of Conor fights is definitely up there as the biggest fights of all time.

You need to get your mma history right. Sylvia even at his best, was laughed at by the fighters, teammates and the fans. After dropping 2 off his last three fights before Fedor, it had gotten even worse.

I never said he wasn't a good fighter so I don't know why you are bringing up AA. I said he was a laughing stock and he was. Hardly Fedors biggest fight

Anderson vs Chael
Gsp vs Diaz
Brock vs Cain
Chuck vs Tito
Bones vs DC
Rampage vs Rashad

and others..

To be fair, since the Mendes fight every one of Conor’s fights could be on this list.

Plenty. I remember Chuck vs Tito 2 was pretty Huge as well as Randy Vs Chuck 3. GSP vs Pen 2 was really big. The Casino I went too was sold out and packed to the gills.

Also, Timmeh vs Randy was a huge huge fight. I remember when Randy did this....

Pen vs Pulver, GSP vs Hughes 2 come to mind as well.

To me it's not just about numbers because of Kimbo. The magnitude and relevance to the sport matters. This does and it'll get more eyeballs than GSP/Penn 2, as the results of Brock's fights weren't as important for the record books.
