It's about the NCAA money. NC loves it's hoops and it's huge money for the economy.

As someone who lives in NC this was expected.

Way to many people and groups came out and bashed us for the Bill for us to keep it. the NCAA games were key. having so much NCAA basketball success and the some decent NCAA football teams means a loss of a shit ton of money, not to mention the companies refusing to come to NC.

Ultimately its a business decision for NC. So many companies taking a stand and the NBA and NCAA really hurts and makes NC look bad.

NBA moved All Star weekend which was supposed to be in Charlotte too

Disney taking a stand hurt a lot too

with all the power/influence these large corporations have now, I can see this becoming a trend for more 'states rights' type issues

like 'oh you feel that way? you can do w/o our business then?' has more pull than it used too

It was a tiny sliver of the revenue, especially in a state that has a booming economy. It was all about ridding the negative publicity.

Yea, it was part finanical, but mainly politically. charlotte is a great city and is growing like crazy.

Men go to the men's room
Women go to the women's room.

I'd just tell the NCAA, NFL and NBA to take a hike.

Too bad they don't care this much about environmental issues.

why would they?
they're in the business of producing revenues, and it's environmental and labor laws (plus corporate tax rates) partly to blame for outsourcing

Good.
Funny how this happens as soon as Duke loses to a South Carolina team in a tournament game that would've been in NC. Shows they run the state and not UNC.
