There's people who specifically train not to be headkicked, get headkicked. What makes you think a person who has zero training in training not to be headkicked, in a situation where he's not even looking to anticipate a headkick, and only punches, can skillfully dodge a headkick?

Otherwise all MMA fighters should be able to dodge most headkicks.

First of all, there is not one person who has ever competed in MMA that has head movement and footwork like Floyd. He is a master of defense, he also is a master of range, he moves in and out of range very quickly. For the majority of the fight he would be out of range for a head kick, and when he moves into boxing range he will be to close to Conor for him to fire off a head kick. I've also never seen Conor KO someone with a head kick, he would get one and only one chance to throw one before he is DQ'd.

Looking at Conor's record he has zero finishes by head kick, and that is against opponents who are far less elusive than Floyd. In boxing you typically always have a defensive guard up, you are not worried about take downs or low kicks, you are defending your head at all times. If you think that Conor is going to do something that he has never done in his MMA career against a master of defense in one chance then I don't know what to tell you. I think this point is moot though, even though Conor is jackass with his trash talk I seriously doubt he would stoop to the level of trying something like this.

At some point or another this fight is going to start going south for McGregor. He will either be losing badly on points, or fading about to be KO'd.

At that point, when the fight is looking like it's over anyway, why not just lose via DQ and kick the guy in the fucking face?
