Just wondering...

i love the celebration of commercialism

Pagans had claims to the date and rituals first -- but they dont whine about cultural appropriation or the stealing of a tradition

we say pass the wine and cut me another slice of the roast beast.

I love it. Family celebration, great food, everyone being in a generally happier mood. Now that I have a daughter I'm looking forward to it even more.

Agnostic here. I love the decorations, the booze, and the presents.

Pagan holidays are fine by me.

i wouldnt say im atheist, but broadly speaking i enjoy it.

however, religious people need an excuse to be nice to each other? how many of them are really cunts even through xmas? lonely people and suicides go through the roof. it feels like it last forever and then its over too soon. commercialism over what is basically a religious festival stolen from the pagans? would jesus have any fucking idea wtf was going on if he came back? santa claus? white babies? coca cola? ipads?

i think over all its a cool festival, but very stressful, try hard and commercial. massively over bearing.

still great though.

What could be better than hanging out with loved ones? There's decorations everywhere, kids are amped up, people are more charitable with a smile and a greeting than at other times, airing of grievances, feats of strenght, something something pole, good food, good drink, good company... Call it what you will, but the christmas holidays are good times.

I love Christmas.

It's getting to be a bit of a pain in the ass. Shopping all over the city, then 4 days of hellish travel for 2-3 days of getting carted around from one relatives place to another to come back to annoying questions like "how were your holidays" by some ditz receptionist.

Obviously Atheists do not celebrate Christmas and tell their children that there is no higher power, they have no souls and when they die they just disappear.

Congrats on your daughter. How old is she now?

11 months and she's wonderful. Thanks for asking man.
Have a Merry Christmas.

I remember my oldest at 7 months old his first Christmas. We have this epic picture of him sitting in front of the tree on Christmas morning in his Christmas pj's. It's my favorite picture of him ever.

It's fine, it's fun, just keep public money out of promoting Christianity. If you want to make space for jeebus, you have to make space for everyone. Them's the rules.
