GSP Hater Count

using that word unironically

We need to put an end to the use of the word hater all together.

BREAKING NEWS: More people tune in to a GSP fight to watch him get KTFO than to see him win.

GSP decided.to fight like Floyd for the last half of his career that's why he has haters.

Im confused, are the haters of the most accomplished and most humble WW champion of all time a loud minority, or has it tipped so that there are more haters at this point?

If any mods want to make this a poll, feel free.
I always rooted for GSP until after the Hendricks fight. Walking away after he's finally pushed to the brink in a tough fight...that sucked.

I could accept him never fighting Anderson, but now he wants to come back and fight Bisping at MW? And it's because skill matters more than size? Where the fuck was this back then when GSP was even more skilled?

If he's going to come back, how could it not be for the WW title or a Hendricks rematch?!?

People tend to voice their opinion more often when it's negative. People rarely talk about a time when they were treated fairly but always shout about being treated unfairly. Same kind of thing I think.

Personally, I don't care either way about GSP. As a person he seems really decent but his fights do at times bore me, though I still do enjoy the technical aptness he possesses.

if there's a fighter who deserves MORE hate, it's GSP. GSP fans have convinced everyone that not only has GSP literally never done anything poorly, which is untrue, but that he has never done anything bad, which isn't true. They explained away him getting greased up, they explained away steroid accusations for YEARS, they explained away him dodging Hendricks to fight Diaz, they explained away every single shady thing that happened to Diaz in montreal, they explained away him retiring in the ring after finally being forced to be in with Hendricks and getting away with a narrow decision, they are in the process of explaining away him cynically ducking Robbie Lawler and finally saying he's ready to come back now that there is a weak champion at MW. He was too small then, he made sure to remind us he's a small welterweight now, but it's about skill, not size.

Yet he was too small to fight Anderson Silva. didn't stop him from letting people talk about him fighting Anderson after EVERY SINGLE FIGHT to keep his name popping, but he was never going to take that fight, it was a threatening fight.

Fuck GSP. I'm sick of GSP. Go away, Leave.

I admire his skill, work-ethic, martial ethos etc but he just doesn't have that "it factor" that I look for in a fighter. Maybe it's his lack of killer instinct or his unwillingness to unleash said instinct but the Dan Hardy fight always sticks out in my mind. Hardy was vastly over-matched anywhere that fight took place and yet the supposed GOAT couldn't put him away. To me the greatest of all time should have at least one or two Anderson/Forrest or Fedor/Sylvia type performances in his resume. I guess you could point to GSP's comparative strength of schedule but he had such an easy route to victory in almost every fight, yet we seldom saw a finish out of him.

Sorry, what do you mean by that part? Did you mean size or am I missing something?

Its cause GSP cant finish a fight to save his life.

Most of the haters were fans of someone GSP beat; they will never get over the fact that he crushed the title dreams of their hero.

I 100% respect the skills of GSP, but hate him as a fighter. The ONLY reason he has as many fans as he does is because he was the only legit MMA fighter for Canada at the time.

Entirely indifferent when he fought. He was great but in s rarely exciting way.

But now that I'm reading how he wants to come back every two days in the most desperate attempt to stay relevant, I can firmly say I dislike the guy.

You wanna come back , cool ok. Shut up and just do it, and be prepared for backlash if your picking fights because they're easy roads to $.

Georges "The Hillary of MMA" St Pierre; 'if you can't win it, rig it'. Or, just create massive propaganda to convince people that you are something you are not (i.e. the GOAT).

I give you the truest pound for pound GOAT of MMA: Fedor "I'd fight at LW but my balls are too big" Emelianenko

And the richest part of #GreaseGate was that GSP needed to cheat to beat a featherweight! It is like Hillary having to rig the primaries, go all #ExitPollGate, in order to beat a 120 year old Jewish socialist from Vermont....you seriously can't make this stuff up!

I have a love/hate with him.

He seems like a nice guy in interviews but I always got the Jon Jones vibe from him that he was holding something back. He's trying his best to be flawless and a role model but it felt like he was afraid to really speak his mind to not offend people or sponsors.

My biggest problem with him was how everything always had to be in his favor. He looked at MMA like a math problem and if the odds weren't 90% in his favor, he wasn't going to do something. That meant not taking risks in fights, weight classes, etc. He literally would have submission opportunities and wouldn't take them because he would lose position. Also, despite being one of the best of all time, he completely ducked Middleweight and Anderson despite saying he's a traditional martial artist and technique beats size.

Other than that, he clearly greased in at least one fight and I'm still suspect of his body.

I do like Georges and I think he's good for the sport but he tries too hard.
Every fighter can show professionalism and sportsman ship..maybe he really didn't want to offend people. But there was something about him that he wanted to say more.
Your point about him not taking risks and maybe finishing a fight is where i think the hate comes from..he's a point fighter and boring..had he finished some, i don't think he'd be as hated..plus the Hendricks fight..The AS fight is held against him, but don't remember if he himself asked for it first..but he did dodge the question a lot.
yes, GreaseSP is a black mark.

It's funny. If you're not a fan of GSP or don't like watching him fight, you're a hater. If you want him to stay retired because he honestly has nothing left to prove, you're a hater. You know, people can not be a fan of someone and not hate them...you know that right?
