Greatest sequels of all time according to Cinefix

I think these guys are just trying to be ultra contrarian

They almost listed Psycho in the greatest remakes of all time video

No BTTF2
No Aliens
No Terminator 2

Thoughts?

  1. There is no question that The Godfather Part II is the greatest sequel of all time. Check.
  2. I never liked the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Just not my cup of tea.
  3. I never saw Logan. I need to see it.
  4. Creed (a sequel, not a "reboot") is a great film, but it's not even my favorite Rocky sequel.
  5. Split absolutely does not belong on this list. That was a really poor movie. The one and only thing that was great about that movie was James McAvoy's performance.

I haven't seen it but a few weeks ago people were saying the new Blade Runner was a near perfect film. That must qualify it here, right?

Aliens
T2
Mad Max 2 : The Road Warrior

The Godfather Part 2
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Logan
Creed
Split
lmao @ Creed, Split and Logan.

So 3 of the 5 best sequels ever.. came out in the last 2 years?

Dumb list is dumb.
Split was OK, but it's hardly a sequel.

Creed doesn't hold a torch to a number of real Rocky sequels

No it didn't. It showed films that the story was concluded and stands just fine on its own (shows scenes from Psycho), but succss of the original makes a remake (shows scenes from Psycho 2 with Norman in the court room)

Either way, aweful list.

I like Creed and Split, but there's a bunch of better sequels. I haven't seen Logan yet. My top 5 list:

1. The Godfather: Part II
2. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
3. Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
4. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
5. Aliens

It's definitely one of the best sequels of all time.

Top 5? Well . . . maybe.

I'm actually a little embarrassed I didn't think of it earlier.
