Elections Challenger to Elizabeth Warren's Senate seat uses sign calling her "fake Indian"

There's no way it would blow over in a day. It would be a screaming front page headline in the NYT, Fox would do multiple specials on it and all the hosts would be talking, CNN would have hacks from both sides arguing about it, etc. If she were to run for president, it would be the defining issue of the campaign. Shit, as is, it would be the defining issue of the campaign. We've already had liberals (@Gutter Chris) suggest she should back out because of it.

I think regular people and high-minded politicians just have to realize that hacks exist and they'll do their thing, and try to make campaigns about issues.

She's just got to come up with a counter meme.

Something like,

"I told one lie in 1986; Donald Trump has told 1,986 lies."

I mean, if the right want's to make this campaign about honesty, and DONALD TRUMP is their guy... uh... game on.

The left has got to be better at exposing the right's glaring hypocrisy and making THAT the issue.

And did you also miss his interview mid campaign where he couldn’t answer a single question on how he’d pay for his trillions in giveaways?

Bernie was selling a fantasy.

No I didn't but I feel like that is an easy question to answer just take it from the defense budget. Shame Bernie didn't say that.

Fine.

But what's more important, that or her voting record-- which has been most consistently pro-employee, pro-consumer, and pro-environment?
What did Rachel Dolezal do that was so horrible besides lie about her ethnicity?

Think about it though, ya'll are fixated on one lie that this woman told in 1986. Rather than her DECADES of work since then.

Seriously, how many lies do you think Donald Trump has told since 1986???
Trump is held accountable for everything he's done pre election. The black tenant lawsuit, for example. Getting laid 12 years ago.

Every single thread degenerates into this circle jerk nonsense.

In every debate just question him on statements he has made. Moderators would probably shut that down though calling it derailing.

If Liz Warren ran in 2020 would you bet on her to win?

I agree with you it should be about issues but it isnt its about bullshit and republicans are masters of it. Liz Warren would get shredded by the right wing narrative and eaten alive by low iq voters.

Republican economics worry me and I want to see them lose not play to their strengths and help them win

They would have so much shit to fling at her that they wouldnt have to talk about a single issue and it would be like the last election. Im just being real about how i see it playing out If you want to beat them in places they usually win you are either going to need to be clean as a whistle or you are going to have to learn to beat them at their own games. There is a reason the democrats keep failing when they should be able to win easily and it has almost nothing to do with issues. Our country is full of morons jack and the republicans are able to win because they understand this. You arent going to intellectualize with a moron man work the room tell them what they need to hear and when you win implement good policy that those same morons would never understand if you tried to explain it to them

The burden of proof is on Warren. She made a claim. One that is easily tested. And she won't put it to the test. End of story.
ITs OK though, its just native americans, not one of the important minorities.

The POTUS being a fucking liar is not nonsense. Care to add anything other than a deflection?
But a senator being a liar is where the line is drawn? GTFO.

I sure hope we don’t have a market crash. The one from 2008 was not a good time for the country.

But I’m sure the elites will gladly accept the socialist handouts from the government and still brand the general public as commies for wanting similar treatment

The banks paid all that back btw. Do other people pay back handouts? Those banks also have money of many Americans. Stock Market goes down and your retirement is gone. Social security won't be there. Pensions will fail too. The market is all you got.

Especially for a guy with a shit degree and job. You are fucked.

It will be the same no matter who the Democrats run. Why not run the person with the best record, and best policy ideas? The outlandish smears are coming regardless, and the rightwing base will eat it up regardless.

At this time? Probably, but it's tough to say. If she actually campaigned in a primary and we got polling data and stuff we'd have a clearer picture, though we wouldn't have much confidence in a pick until later in the race (and depending on how close it was, we might never get much).

The problem I have here is that this isn't unique to Warren. Everyone has something like that in their background. Unless you were planning to run for president since you were a small child and were super careful not to have done anything, there's going to be some little thing that people can hit you on (hell, Clinton probably was planning a run forever and did still completely clean, and you still have people who think she's a crook for no reason). Every candidate was young once, every candidate has to raise money and doesn't know everything about their donors, etc. Probably everyone old enough to run has had social views that now look bad. If we're saying just roll over and die because the other side attacks you, you're never going to win.

And they FBI also made it clear they didn't care about justice then either.

By not abandoning rule of law to arrest a presidential candidate. OK. We already know where you stand--you think that anything at all is justified if the result is that Republicans win power. You would support a military coup.

You know that every president this century fits that description, right?

It's in the job description.

You sound incredibly naive.

Another example of fake sophistication being used to justify bad behavior.

This sums it up:

n an ever-changing, incomprehensible world the masses had reached the point where they would, at the same time, believe everything and nothing, think that everything was possible and that nothing was true. ... Mass propaganda discovered that its audience was ready at all times to believe the worst, no matter how absurd, and did not particularly object to being deceived because it held every statement to be a lie anyhow. The totalitarian mass leaders based their propaganda on the correct psychological assumption that, under such conditions, one could make people believe the most fantastic statements one day, and trust that if the next day they were given irrefutable proof of their falsehood, they would take refuge in cynicism; instead of deserting the leaders who had lied to them, they would protest that they had known all along that the statement was a lie and would admire the leaders for their superior tactical cleverness.

I'm pro business. But if you cheat or cut corners, or even worse cheat at a criminal level, then I want people personally fined and jailed. For instance the Wells Fargo ongoing scandal, upper management should be punished, personally, and I do think a few should do actual jail time. Instead 5000 lower level workers were fired.

I agree on that. People need to go to jail or at least be fuckin fired. Wells Fargo guy just got a raise. The fuckin arrogance.
