bisping's last 16 fights.

remind me who else has knocked hector dead?

Remind me who else has knocked out Ryan LaFlare? Alex Oliveira needs to fight for the title at 170.

Knocking out Lombard(a 37 yo welterweight coming off a brutal TKO loss) =/= being competitive.

Yep. He's pretty much lost to every elite fighter he's faced until the rockhold fight, and even then he got wrecked the first time they fought. I was actually happy when he beat rockhold, but It'll be nice when he faces a top guy and loses. He's been walking around and acting like his shit doesn't stink since he won the belt.
Truth to be told, guys he lost to were juiced to the gills though :D.

It's annoying hearing Bisping chirp about being champion while not fighting, like he's lord of the manor.

He was given a title shot he didn't earn, made the most of it, defended against the number thirteen guy, angled to defend again against a retired fighter from a lower weight class, and has laughed at actual contenders from the broadcast booth. Screw this prancing ponce and the UFC for letting him hold a belt for so long without actually defending it.

We all know bispings made a career out of beating mid tier guys and losing to all the good fighters he fights

dan miller - mediocre fighter at best
yoshihiro akiyama - mediocre at best
Jorge rivera - over the hill journeyman
jason miller - not a top 20 fighter
chael - lost
Brian stann - decent fighter. decent win
Vitor - trt Vitor kicked his eyeball out
Alan belcher - decent fighter. decent win
tim kennedy - smoked bisping
cung le - over the hill old man
rockhold - choked with one arm
cb dollaway - mediocre at best
thales leites - decision coulda gone either way
anderson - shoulda been a loss
rockhold - landed a lucky punch. but still landed it. good on ya
hendo - I thought hendo won. either way, he barely squeaked out a W against a 45 year old.

yeah, I'm sure I'm coming off as a hater. but I'm just not impressed with his career in the past 6-7 years.

In his entire UFC career which is one of the longest, he has 2-3 top 10 wins. Out of like 20+ fights. That's it. He's just very opportunistic

He doesn't have the best resume but he did almost kill Rockhold so he deserves to be champion.

If Bisping never beat Rockhold his current win streak would be pretty bland. He's riding that Rockhold victory for as long as he can.

And if he beat everyone he'd faced his record would be awesome, it's a stupid argument to make.
The Rockhold fight was only 13 months ago, so how long's he been riding it and it's not like he's got long left fighting, isn't his deal up in 2 fights?

he has 4 top 10 wins in his career (Stann, Anderson, Leites, Luke). Anderson is arguably post leg bureak/PED bust/inactivity. Stann was barely top 10. it took him 6 years fighting in UFC to pick up one top 10 win. For 90% of his career he was beating journeymen, mediocre fighters and losing top guys. And even in alot of those fights he looked vulnerable and beatable, like Dollabills nearly KOing him or 40yo Cung hurting him numerous times

Against Brian he got hurt standing and panic wrestled. Anderson nearly killed him twice. Leites fight was very close and competitive and he got hurt. Luke is the only fight where he was dominant and it happened to be a fluke 1st round KO (Bisping never KOs anyone with his pillowfists let alone in 1st).

he knows he got lucky and is milking this for as long as he can. Which is why he was desperate for Hendo who at 50yo nearly killed him twice and arguably won. and now OFC he wants GSP

Bisping knows hes merely a decent fighter, not a gureat one. Just a decent fighter who caught lightning in a bottle with arguably Upset of the Year in Luke fight. Everyone whos being honest with themselves know that, theres been a narrative shift since the fluke Luke fight tho and those calling Bisping some gureat fighter are obviously trolling, they dont believe that

The fuck are you talking about? Cung did not hurt him numerous times.

He is a great fighter god you are pathetic

Gonzaga beat Cro Cop. Serra beat GSP.

When a guy only has 1 notable victory, it's pretty telling about that fighters skills.

2 top 5 wins - Rockhold, Silva

2 top 10 wins - Stann, Belcher

Dude is legitimately elite. It's weird that his haters keep denying this.

Even his loss against Chael- when you put that into context he lost an extremely narrow decision to the (at the time of the bout) #2 middleweight in the world.

Let's also note that almost all of his losses were either avenged or came at the hands of juiced opponents.

A note on the Chael fight as well.
It was a late switch in opponents for him it was a main event and a TS bout that only went three rounds.

Shut the fuck up.

A lucky punch is any upset-inducing punch that involves striking knowledge most people don't have.
"It must be luck! I don't understand it, so what else could it be?!"

So much this. Drives me nuts.

He got the belt because he finally managed to step up his game in fights that mattered. He boxed quite a lot better in his fights vs AS and rockhold compared to the rest of his fights

He has three controversial decisions in his last 4 fights. I personally thought he beat Hendo and Silva but lost to Leites.

what is this :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:ry? why do I have to see homoerotic shit when I want to read a thread.
Ban this fool

So you're comparing a 30-7 fighter who's been top 10 for about 10 years with two 11-7 and 17-11 ones?
And if you're going with Gonzaga vs CroCop then that's as notable as Bispings wins over Hendo and Silva.

Jesus you guys are haters

that list shows he is a top5 Middleweight of all time, made the most money of any middleweight in history, UFC leader in wins, and still is in line for the biggest payday of his career is that fight with GSP materializes...

especially with Whitaker out indefinitely at least 12-16months minimum before he competes again.

Bisping has clearly worked his ass off and deserves everything that he has achieved.

Frankly he has grown on me, and except for a fight with GSP id probably cheer for him against anyone else in the MW division except for Machida.
