11 Years Between 2 Belts

What is a higher number, the number of times Fedor defended his title, or the number of pro wrestlers he beat?
He defended the world title 6x (3 in PRIDE, 3 after as WAMMA world champ) and put his #1 world ranking on the line 18x.

He only fought one pure pro wrestler, Nagata, at the Inoki NYE show in Japan because he was in a contract dispute with PRIDE.

Fujita also did some pro wrestling but he was a legit National amateur wrestling champion, similar to Brock.

Ogawa did some pro wrestling but was an Olympic Gold Medalist in Judo.

Ryushi Yanagisawa also did pro wrestling but his fight vs Fedor was his 55th MMA fight.

So out of 36 wins, only one was a pure pro wrestler and that was Fedor's 5th fight that year.

So, it's about even.

Depending on your definition of pro-wrestler and world title. WMMA? <6>

After PRIDE folded Fedor defended his World Heavyweight Title against Sylvia and Arlovski in Affliction and then against Rogers in Strikeforce.

W.A.M.M.A (World Association of Mixed Martial Arts) was formed to recognize Fedor as the world champ, because in 2008 it surely wasn't the UFC champ. Randy was the Lineal UFC champ at that time and was fighting the UFC in court to get out of his contract so he could fight Fedor. Of course, the UFC won the legal battle and blocked that from happening.

Nog was the UFC Interim champ and had already lost 2x to Fedor.

No doubt Fedor was the true World Champ and #1 HW until he finally lost to Werdum.

Steve, PositiveBalance, and I also named him Global Fighter Champion at that time.

Aldo went 10 years undefeated having a 18 fight win streak with 9 title defenses

Bisping KO'd Luke Rockhold and became the MW champion fair and square.

GSP beat the MW champion fair and square.

The facts counts. What doesn't count is your opinion.
Bisping was the weakest champ in last the decade (maybe longer). His title reign was a 100 year old Hendo, and a retired GSP.

When you put it that way, it does seem shameful he ducked murderers like Yoel, Weidman, Whittaker, Mousasi.

that was one of the best combacks, truly a special moment

It's exactly what I would have done lol. In fairness he also fought Wand, And Vitor who were juiced to the gills.

Doesn't mean much for me actually.

Much more impressive that he beat hughes than he beat Bisping

Exactly!! Bisping even having the in the first place was the phenomenal feat. Gsp should have been fighting Hendo for the strap if anything.

There was an interim champ out there while he was winning the title.

He went on to vacate before unifying the belt.

So not that impressive as it sounds.

With Anderson Silva and Jon Jones out of the GOAT discussion due to roids, GSP should be running away with that shit with Fedor as the only argument. GSP just got out of the sport in time before getting smashed up. He's a brilliant dude and handled his career very well.

rockhold was never the best MW tho. neither was weidman when luke beat him. all a championship means is that youre the best among the people who are granted a title shot, there is no guarantee however that the best fighter in the division gets a title shot.

Just curious, who was salivating at a crack at Bisping besides Romero?

Only one who got "robbed" was Yoel. As far as I know, all the other guys were either not ready to fight or coming off losses.

Luke was back there talking shit
Twood wanted a shot at Bis (or GsP)
Wiedman was crying even tho he was losing fights
Yoel was waiting
Gamebred was picking fights with Bis

I didnt say lots of people were next, just that a lot of people were ready to beat up Bis

Impressive as hell. Just another obvious reason as to why he PROBABLY isn’t natty.
